You’re keen to leverage your extensive experience in government and public administration to drive enhanced ministerial engagement.

Be the trusted strategic partner providing expert advice to the Secretary and Ministers.

In this role you'll

• Serve as the principal point of communication between all portfolio Ministerial Offices, Transport, and relevant portfolio agencies/operators, working closely with the Secretary and departmental executive.
• Develop strategies to drive the provision of quality and timely advice from across Transport to portfolio Ministers and their offices in line with ministerial expectations.
• Manage priorities to ensure sustained, high-level performance in responding to critical deadlines, continued service delivery, and promotion of the professional ability of the portfolio agencies.
• Identify and develop strategic links between the work of the Transport portfolio and the Ministers' parliamentary and public activities.
• Partner with the Director, Government Relations, Capability and Insights to implement business improvement initiatives focused on the streamlining of technology systems and business processes.
• Set vision and purpose for your team with a focus on capability uplift, empowerment, and employee engagement to drive high performance and impact.

About you

You’re an inspiring leader who will bring extensive experience in government and public administration, coupled with a deep understanding of legislative and parliamentary processes and protocols.

You'll have a proven track record of delivering high-level support services to Senior Executives and Ministers, including preparing briefings, policy advice, ministerial correspondence, and parliamentary documents. As a trusted advisor, you will have demonstrated discretion and sound judgment when managing sensitive matters.

Your ability to communicate succinctly, navigate complex and sensitive issues, manage priorities, and forge strong relationships across the organisation and with external stakeholders will be essential in this role. With your strategic mindset and commitment to driving continuous improvement, you'll be instrumental in enhancing Transport's support and engagement to Ministers and their Offices.
