Specific Responsibilities Would Include

This is a high-level technical senior role in the fabric team, focused on functional fabric development, advanced finishing technology, complex quality root-cause resolution, and global brand technical compliance. Different from general fabric coordinators, this position requires deep textile engineering expertise, independent new material R&D capability, and advanced problem-solving skills, serving as the internal technical expert for knitted/woven functional fabrics.

Key Responsibilities: 1. Functional Fabric Technical Development (Core Duty)Lead full-cycle development of performance/functional fabrics as well as pricepoints. Highly align with New York Fabric team for development requirements and communicate with them closely. Independently verify yarn specification, knitting structure, dyeing method, specialty finishing s to ensure fabric performance meets Under Armour test standards and mass-production stability. Evaluate new functional chemicals, innovative finishing techniques and new fabric structures; conduct technical trials, data analysis and risk assessment to support seasonal new item development.

  1. Advanced Technical Problem Solving & Bulk Quality ControlAct as the technical owner for difficult and recurring fabric quality issues, including fastness degradation, crocking/color transfer, fabric smoothness appearance grade failure, pilling, stretch bounce-back inconsistency, washing shrinkage deviation and post-finishing performance instability.Able to accurately distinguish defects caused by yarn inherent property / dye limitation / finishing process / garment sewing tension variation and provide root-cause-based permanent solutions rather than temporary adjustments.Conduct pre-production technical risk review and prevent mass technical failures in advance.
  2. Global Standard & Compliance GovernanceExpert in AATCC / ASTM physical testing requirements, OEKO-TEX, PFAS-free, REACH and brand-specific chemical restriction standards.Responsible for supplier technical audit, chemical management verification, functional finishing validation, and third-party lab (ITS/SGS) technical argumentation.
  3. Cross-functional & Global Technical CommunicationProvide professional technical support for global design, merchandising, QA and overseas headquarters teams. Independently deliver technical reports, test result analysis, development summary and corrective action plans in fluent business English.

Our Best Fit Candidate Would Have

Additional Requirements

  • Design or Textile background (preferred), with a focus on fabric sourcing.-Minimum 10 years of experience in fabric merchandising.-Familiar with business network systems and effective in their use.-Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.-Proficient in Microsoft Office.-Excellent and fluent English ability
