Job Description

HELP US BRING THE GIFT OF HEALTH TO LIFE.

Working at Pharmavite is an experience like no other. With a focus on complete nutrition for all, each endeavor is urgent and every day counts. You'll have the opportunity to work on the #1 selling national vitamin and supplement brand, Nature Made, as well as an exciting portfolio of other products that are shaping the future of the healthy living industry. Consumer-driven innovation, high quality products and a promising portfolio, all driven by a team with a shared sense of purpose -- that's Pharmavite. Join us to bring the gift of health to life.

This role is not available for any form of immigration sponsorship or support, including completion of the Form I-983 training plan required for STEM OPT.

The Sr. Manager, Medical & Scientific Communications (MSC) is a strategic, commercially oriented leader responsible for activating science as a driver of revenue growth, brand differentiation, and market influence. This role translates scientific evidence into compelling claim platforms, education, and engagement strategies that increase consumer trust, accelerate purchase intent, and strengthen health care provider (HCP) and retailer advocacy.

This leader is accountable for defining the business purpose, expected outcomes, and measurable impact of all MSC initiatives—ensuring that scientific communications are directly aligned to enterprise priorities and deliver tangible commercial results. As a key bridge between Science and Commercial, this role partners across Brand, Innovation, Marketing, Sales, and Communications to embed science early in strategy, shape winning product narratives, and drive measurable business impact.

Responsibilities:

Science-Led Strategic Enablement

· Lead development of evidence-based claim platforms and scientific narratives that support brand differentiation and informed decision-making.

· Clearly articulate the scientific rationale, context, and substantiation needs for key initiatives to ensure alignment with business objectives.

· Partner cross-functionally to embed Medical & Scientific Communications (MSC) early in innovation and brand planning, providing scientific input to inform positioning and go-to-market considerations.

· Translate complex scientific evidence into clear, credible communications tailored for consumers, healthcare professionals, and retail partners.

· Ensure all scientific outputs are accurate, compliant, and aligned to the intended communication objectives, supporting broader business goals such as trust, engagement, and appropriate product understanding.

Revenue & Demand Generation Enablement

· Partner with Innovation, Brand and Sales to deploy science that increases sell-in, shelf conversion, and eCommerce performance.

· Develop shopper-facing, bite-sized education that improves purchase confidence at point of sale.

· Enable omnichannel activation of science across retail, digital, and media touchpoints.

· Strengthen retailer partnerships through science-backed category leadership and insights.

· Own and track the impact of science-enabled initiatives on conversion, sell-in, and consumer engagement.

HCP & External Influence Strategy

· Lead targeted, insight-driven HCP engagement strategy to increase recommendation, credibility, and market influence.

· Expand and differentiate continuing education (CE) and professional engagement platforms.

· Build long-term advocacy with key HCP segments and translate insights into business strategy.

· Represent the company externally to enhance scientific authority and brand credibility.

Scalable Education & Content Ecosystems

· Build scalable education platforms (consumer, HCP, internal) that drive trust, understanding, and demand at scale.

· Translate complex science into bite-sized, high-impact content that drives behavior change and purchase intent.

· Ensure all content ladders to defined business outcomes (conversion, engagement, trust).

· Leverage digital and AI-enabled formats to expand reach, personalization, and effectiveness.

Thought Leadership & Category Authority

· Establish Pharmavite as a visible, trusted scientific authority in priority categories.

· Translate emerging science and trends into actionable opportunities for growth and differentiation.

· Develop and activate an external scientific voice strategy that builds brand equity and demand.

Strategic Leadership & Business Impact Ownership

· Own the end-to-end value narrative of MSC, clearly linking all activities to business strategy and outcomes.

Proactively communicate how MSC drives growth, differentiation, and market influence to senior leadership.

· Establish and track clear success metrics for all initiatives, ensuring visibility and accountability for impact.

· Ensure the team consistently operates with a mindset of outcome ownership vs. activity execution.

· Take accountability for connecting scientific work to enterprise priorities—without deferring ownership.

Team Leadership & Capability Building

· Build and lead a high-performing MSC team focused on business impact, not just scientific output.

· Establish best-in-class tools, frameworks, and processes to scale science translation across the organization.

· Drive a performance culture with clear KPIs tied to commercial outcomes.

· Manage budget, resources, and prioritization aligned to highest-value business opportunities.

Success Metrics:

Success in this role will be measured by:

· Science contribution to conversion rate and purchase intent lift.

· HCP engagement, recommendation, and advocacy metrics.

· Retailer adoption, sell-in, and partnership strength.

· Improvement in brand trust and scientific credibility.

· Speed and effectiveness of science-backed claims and narrative activation.

· Clear linkage between MSC initiatives and business performance outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education

Advanced degree (M.S., PhD or equivalent) in nutrition, health sciences, public health, or related discipline.

Experience

· 8+ years in scientific communications, medical affairs, or related field (CPG/dietary supplements preferred).

· 5+ years of leadership experience.

· Demonstrated success linking scientific communications to business strategy and commercial outcomes.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

· Proven ability to translate science into commercially impactful strategies and narratives.

· Strong business acumen with ability to connect scientific work to revenue, conversion, and growth drivers.

· Ability to define strategy, influence senior stakeholders, and drive cross-functional alignment.

· Exceptional storytelling and communication skills (scientific + commercial audiences).

· Experience engaging with HCPs, retailers, and cross-functional commercial teams.

· Strong leadership, prioritization, and performance management capabilities.

Work Environment:

Hybrid role requiring 3 days in person in West Hills, CA. General office environment; ability to sit for long periods of time; ability to move about an office.

Travel:

15-25% travel required.

Safety:

The incumbent must be able to perform this job safely without endangering the health or safety of self or others.
