The research we do and the products we develop improve outcomes for patients around the world. As a Sr Mgr, Medical Affairs at Baxter, your work contributes directly to making a significant impact on others.

The Senior Manager, Medical Affairs - Latin America serves as the primary Medical Affairs leader supporting Baxter's Advanced Surgery portfolio throughout Latin America. This individual partners with healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders, commercial teams, marketing, regulatory affairs, clinical teams, R&D, and Global Medical Affairs to drive scientific exchange, evidence generation, medical education, and critical initiatives that improve patient outcomes and support business objectives.

The position is responsible for medical affairs activities across Latin America, including Brazil, Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, and South America, acting as the primary scientific resource for the region.

What you'll be doing

  • Develop and execute regional Medical Affairs strategies aligned with global priorities and business growth objectives.
  • Provide clinical and scientific expertise to identify unmet needs, evidence gaps, and support strategic decision-making.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), emerging clinical leaders, and healthcare professionals.
  • Conduct scientific exchanges to gather insights on clinical trends, customer needs, and evolving standards of care.
  • Support clinical research, investigator-initiated studies, and the development of scientific publications and presentations.
  • Lead medical education initiatives, including advisory boards, workshops, training programs, and scientific symposia.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Commercial, Marketing, Regulatory, Clinical, Health Economics, R&D, and Global Medical Affairs teams.
  • Represent Medical Affairs at scientific congresses, provide regulatory and product support, and communicate emerging evidence, market trends, and competitive insights.

What you'll bring

  • Advanced healthcare degree (MD, PharmD, PhD or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 5 years of Medical Affairs, Clinical Affairs, Research, or related healthcare industry experience.
  • Experience engaging healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders.
  • Strong understanding of clinical research and scientific communication.
  • ProficientEnglish and Spanish required.
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout Latin America.

Preferred

  • Surgical specialty traininga nd Medical device experience
