Job Description

As the Senior Manager, Marketing & Commercial Operations for Waters Advanced Diagnostics Canada, you will provide strategic leadership for the Canadian Advanced Diagnostics business, shaping and executing the commercial vision that drives sustainable growth, market expansion, and customer engagement across the country. As a key member of the leadership team, you will define and lead the overarching marketing strategy, translating business objectives into impactful, outcomes-based programs that strengthen market presence, enhance customer value, and deliver measurable commercial results.

In this highly visible role, you will serve as the primary Canadian representative within North American and Worldwide Marketing forums, ensuring alignment between global initiatives and local market needs while advocating for the Canadian business. Working in close partnership with Sales, Business Operations, Finance, and global stakeholders, you will drive financial performance, optimize commercial effectiveness, and identify opportunities to accelerate growth across the portfolio.

This role is leading and developing a team of six professionals across marketing, service operations, and contracts. You will foster a high-performing culture through coaching, mentorship, and talent development while driving strategic execution and operational excellence. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced marketing leader with a proven track record of building teams, executing impactful marketing strategies, and delivering results within the Canadian healthcare and diagnostics market.

Job Responsibilities

  • Defining, validating and implementing marketing strategies that identify compelling solutions for Canadian (or Provincial) market. Ensuring individual platform strategy is integrated into a broader Healthcare strategy with relevance to executive stakeholders.
  • Leading the integration of Global & NA Waters initiatives into ADx Canada marketing activities including The Waters Way of Marketing planning process.
  • Mentoring and coaching ADx marketing team, assessing capabilities and gaps to achieve strategic goals and set plans to manage and mitigate.
  • Communicating success and learnings from the Canadian market development activity to the broader WW ADx marketing teams to ensure alignment and leverage of NA & WW resources.
  • Leading the execution of the Canadian strategic planning process and working in collaboration with sales leader to define the tactical and execution plan.
  • Managing and coordinating marketing input to forecasting process. Monitoring and analyzing the evolution of sales and GP performance. Developing and implementing corrective actions where necessary.
  • Organizing, coordinating and implementing product and solutions launch activities: product evaluation, promotional campaign, sales support tools, pricing approach, country roll out, training program, opening inventory and logistic criteria.
  • Maintaining and developing product line expertise in terms of: customer needs, marketing trends, products, technologies, applications and competition.
  • Maintaining effective KOL (Key Opinion Leaders) network.
  • Working with BU Leader, Finance, Marketing Team and Sales to build annual budgets and quarterly forecasts as well as Annual Strategy Reviews
  • Representing ADx Canada at NA & WW and regional marketing meetings to ensure a collaborative and synergistic relationship across business units.

Education and Experience required:

  • Bachelor of Science or Business Degree required. MBA preferred. 
  • 7 years of marketing/product management healthcare experience, in the capital medical device space strongly preferred, with a strong understanding of the Life Sciences Segment (Clinical Diagnostics and/or Research). 
  • Knowledge of Canada's healthcare regulations, standards, and compliance requirements. 
  • Proven and direct experience in developing and executing marketing plans and managing a team. 
  • Financial business acumen with direct experience in forecasting with proven track record of achieving and exceeding financial targets. 
  • Proficient with MS office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required, and Salesforce preferred.
  • Bilingual French (read write speak) an asset. 
  • Travel 10% or as needed in Canada and/or US.

  • Demonstrated expertise in strategic marketing, portfolio management, and commercial execution.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to leverage market research, customer insights, and data analytics to inform business and marketing strategies.
  • Proven success in market planning, commercialization, and sales enablement to drive business growth and sales effectiveness.
  • Collaborative leader with a track record of working effectively across cross-functional teams to foster a customer-centric culture with a strong bias for action.
