The Senior Manager – Finance is a senior leadership role within the Global Service Centre responsible for overseeing the Finance Operations function, which encompasses Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and allied finance processes. The role is accountable for delivering high-quality, compliant, and efficient finance services to DP World's business units globally, driving strategic transformation, and developing a strong finance operations team. The Senior Manager acts as a key interface between the GSC and regional / business unit finance leadership, ensuring the GSC delivers measurable value as a centre of excellence.
Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Finance Operations function within the GSC, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and general finance processing.
Set the vision, operating model, and performance framework for the Finance Operations team; drive accountability across all sub-functions.
Own the design and continuous improvement of the Finance Operations governance framework, including policies, controls, SLAs, and escalation matrices.
Serve as the primary point of escalation for cross-functional finance operations issues impacting business units.
Partner with the Head of Finance – GSC to define and execute the Finance Operations strategy aligned to DP World's broader organisational priorities.
Provide oversight and strategic direction to the Manager – AP and Manager – AR, ensuring both functions deliver against their KPIs and SLAs.
Monitor enterprise-level financial metrics including AP aging, Days Payable Outstanding (DPO), Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), and Collection Effectiveness Index (CEI).
Ensure robust controls are in place for invoice processing, payment runs, billing, collections, and credit risk management.
Review and approve high-value payment runs, credit limit exceptions, and write-off decisions as per the delegation of authority matrix.
Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities across AP and AR; ensure timely and accurate reporting.
Present Finance Operations performance dashboards and executive reports to the Head of Finance – GSC and senior business unit stakeholders.
Provide financial analysis and insights on working capital, cash flow trends, and operational efficiency to support business decision-making.
Act as a trusted business partner to regional and business unit finance teams, ensuring alignment between GSC outputs and business requirements.
Support the preparation of Board / Audit Committee materials relating to Finance Operations where required.
Coordinate with Group Finance on consolidation, reporting requirements, and accounting policy application.
Lead the Finance Operations transformation agenda, including ERP optimisation, workflow automation, and adoption of emerging finance technologies.
Identify and prioritise process improvement opportunities across AP and AR; oversee delivery of agreed transformation projects.
Drive a data-driven culture within Finance Operations — establish metrics, dashboards, and analytics capabilities.
Benchmark GSC Finance Operations performance against industry best practices and global Shared Services standards.
Engage with technology and digital teams to evaluate and implement solutions such as RPA, AI-based invoice processing, and dynamic discounting.
Ensure the Finance Operations function maintains full compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements (where applicable), IFRS / applicable accounting standards, and statutory obligations.
Maintain oversight of GST, Income Tax, TDS, and other regulatory compliance requirements impacting AP and AR.
Own the internal audit relationship for Finance Operations; coordinate responses to audit findings and drive closure of action items.
Identify, assess, and mitigate financial and operational risks across the AP and AR portfolios.
Ensure appropriate segregation of duties, fraud prevention controls, and data integrity across all finance processes.
Build and maintain strategic relationships with key vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders across global business units.
Represent the GSC Finance Operations function in senior-level business reviews, governance forums, and cross-functional committees.
Drive resolution of escalated vendor and customer disputes at a senior level.
Collaborate with Procurement, Treasury, Tax, Legal, and Commercial teams on cross-functional finance matters.
Lead, develop, and inspire a multi-level Finance Operations team; build a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous learning.
Manage senior direct reports (Managers) through structured performance management, coaching, and career development conversations.
Drive talent development and succession planning for critical roles within Finance Operations.
Oversee workforce planning, hiring, and onboarding for the Finance Operations function in coordination with HR.
Champion a culture of inclusion, diversity, and employee engagement within the team.
Deep expertise in Finance Operations, including AP, AR, and General accounting processes in a large, complex organisation or Shared Services / GSC environment.
Strong knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) and finance technology platforms.
Proven track record in leading finance transformation, automation, and process excellence initiatives.
Strong understanding of IFRS / applicable accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory compliance (GST, TDS, Income Tax).
Exceptional analytical, financial modelling, and data interpretation skills.
Outstanding leadership and people management skills; experience managing managers and cross-functional teams.
Excellent executive communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
Strategic thinker with the ability to translate organisational priorities into operational plans and deliver results.
Demonstrated ability to manage complexity, competing priorities, and ambiguity in a fast-paced global environment.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (mandatory).
CA, CMA, or MBA (Finance) — strongly preferred.
Experience: 15+ years of progressive experience in Finance / Accounting, with at least 5–7 years in a senior managerial or leadership role overseeing Finance Operations teams. Prior experience in a Global Shared Services / GSC environment is strongly preferred.
