Job Summary

Overseeing programs and practices for hiring, performance management and developing/training the personnel that perform and

support the plant operating functions to deliver the required operational performance.

  • Directing all aspects of manufacturing operations for the plant or facility to produce cost-effective, timely and high-quality products in a safe, secure and sanitary working environment.
  • Managing development, implementation and continual improvement of the operating methods, equipment, systems and other operating infrastructure used to realize operating goals and objectives.
  • Directing development of production work schedules to meet internal goals and customer expectations; monitoring process and personnel performance of scheduled work activities to remove operating impediments and achieve established operating goals.

What You Will Do

  • Safety is a core value; this role will lead the way in ensuring our Safety Commitments are met
  • Manage the production processes in line with Caterpillar production principles, establish and maintain appropriate governance to ensure quality and order delivery commitments are met, whilst leading the teams through changes with effective change management strategies.
  • Participation in the facility demand and orders process, capacity planning, execution of manufacturing run rates to required quality and velocity
  • Provide leadership to the Operations teams, with a focus on talent development and growth, taking a proactive and organized approach
  • Foster and grow existing positive relationships with the on-site trade unions, including leading collective bargaining processes and pay deal

Key Skills Required

Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

Collaborating: Knowledge of collaborative techniques; ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a

constructive and collaborative manner.

Quality Management: Knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques and ability to create and support

an environment that meets the quality goals of the organization.

Performance Management: Knowledge of successful performance management techniques; ability to apply organization's

performance management system, practices, and tools to developing and improving individual, team, and organizational

performance.

Lean Manufacturing: Knowledge of the philosophy, principles and implementation approaches of lean manufacturing;

ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes.

Planning and Organizing: Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and

organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic time and resources and highly methodical way.

Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high

levels of precision.
