Location: Hong Kong
Type: Full Time
Reports to: Director, Manufacturing and Sourcing

The Role

At Nex, we move fast. As a dynamic, growth-oriented hardware startup, we need a manufacturing & sourcing leader who thrives in ambiguity, is excited by building systems from the ground up, and is ready to scale global operations alongside product growth. This is a unique opportunity to shape how we produce, source, and deliver products worldwide — and to build core infrastructure that will support Nex’s future for years to come.

What You'll Do

Manufacturing Partner & Sourcing Execution

  • Support global manufacturing strategy in managing major suppliers (EMS/ODM), including performance reviews, capacity planning, QBRs, and commercial execution.
  • Execute sourcing for assigned finished goods, accessories, and components, ensuring cost competitiveness and supply continuity.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations with manufacturing partners and their upstream supply chain across Mexico and Asia.
  • Drive production planning, on-time delivery, output volume, yield, and quality.

Cost Management & Supplier Optimization

  • Track product costs (BOM, manufacturing, landed, margins) for assigned suppliers; drive cost-down initiatives and negotiations.
  • Drive supplier KPIs (OTD, yield, quality) and continuous improvements in cost and efficiency.
  • Build resilience through dual sourcing and capacity planning for your portfolio.

Operational Excellence & Process Development

  • Design standardized processes, policies, and documentation to collect internal requirements (BOMs, forecasts, specs) from R&D, sales, operations.
  • Create supplier onboarding frameworks, contract templates, SOPs, and compliance checklists to streamline execution.
  • Develop tools/dashboards for supplier performance, inventory visibility, and risk tracking.

Quality, Compliance & Risk Management

  • Implement and maintain quality standards for assigned suppliers (incoming materials, in-process, final inspection, packaging).
  • Oversee compliance (regulatory, safety, export/import), audit readiness, and corrective action processes.
  • Ensure reliability, safety, and consistency across all products.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Startup Collaboration

  • Partner with engineering, product, quality, logistics, and finance to align on NPI ramps and volume growth.
  • Mentor junior team members; escalate issues while owning tactical resolution in fast-paced startup environment.
  • Coordinate with global sites (China, Mexico, etc.) for seamless execution.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related; Master's/MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years’ experience in sourcing, global manufacturing operations or hardware supply chain (consumer electronics or related). Candidates with less experience may be considered for the Manager role.
  • Proven track record managing contract manufacturers / OEM / ODM / CM partners and supplier ecosystems.
  • Experience working with factories in Asia or Latin America (Mexico preferred).
  • Strong skills in cost modeling, BOM analysis, supplier negotiation, and margin optimization.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset — unafraid of ambiguity, able to wear many hats, and comfortable building new systems from scratch.

Preferred

  • Experience with high-volume hardware production and scaling operations.
  • Background in sourcing for accessories, components, or multiple product SKUs.
  • Familiarity with international logistics, compliance, tariffs, and global supply chain risk management.
  • Experience working in startup or high-growth company environments.

We Offer

  • Competitive compensation package.
  • Flexible working hours and vacation policy.
  • Product-driven culture that treasures talents and individual growth.
  • Front-row seat and hands-on experience with cutting edge technologies in the evolving gaming field
