Senior Manager Maintenance and Facilities

The Senior Manager, Maintenance and Facilities role is a critical leadership position responsible for ensuring reliability, compliance, and operational continuity across 3 manufacturing sites with a combined maintenance organization of approximately 20 employees, including 2 maintenance and facilities supervisors. This role oversees both equipment maintenance and facility infrastructure, which are essential to supporting regulated manufacturing operations and ensuring production uptime. Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to developing the facilities and maintenance strategy and plan aligned to the manufacturing plan.
- Ensure that any installation is maintained in a technically sound, safe and environmentally acceptable manner, by complying with all DSM requirements, Manufacturing work processes and other relevant requirements and best practices.
- Responsible for overall repair and maintenance of facility and equipment to minimize down time, meet production requirements, and pass audits.
- Maintain inventory of critical spare parts to ensure repairs can be made in an acceptable time frame.
- Develops and Updates Department SOPs as needed.
- Ensures availability for after hours and weekend maintenance issues.
- Set targets and Key Performance Indicators and ensure adequate management reporting of the performance of the maintenance and facilities groups.
- Select, manage, coach and develop staff, in line with dsm-firmenich values and HR requirements and procedures.

You Bring:
- ~10 years of experience in maintenance with 5 years of supervision experience
- Previous experience in a GMP biotech/pharmaceutical/food environment preferred
- Experienced user of Blue Mountain software used for maintenance and calibration management
- Requires a knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, uses, repair and maintenance
- Requires a knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
- Requires the ability to read schematics, specifications, blueprints, and technical drawings
- Requires knowledge of preventive, predictive and planned maintenance, and typical mechanical work such as pipefitting, hydraulics, and welding
- Expertise in the use of MS Office, Word and Excel, and experience in BAS (Building Automation system) is preferred
- Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
- Accuracy, a detail orientation, initiative to multi-task with deadlines, flexible can-do attitude, and ability to adjust workload to meet varying schedules
- Extensive knowledge and experience working with Facility systems associate plant operations (Boilers, Chillers Cooling tower, Substation, emergency generator, Un-interruptible power supplies, MCC panels and detailed electrical delivery equipment tools
- Execute the job within the applicable DSM, OSHA, EPA, ISO, FDA, CE, IBC, NEC & other requirements
- Must be available to be on call to handle emergencies or any extra hours as required
The salary or hourly wage scale provided reflects the pay range dsm-firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant’s job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training, and primary work location. Salary: $135,000.00 - $160,000.00.
