Job Description


The Senior Manager of Learning & Development leads the design, implementation, and evaluation of enterprise-wide learning and development strategies that drive organizational performance, employee growth, and business objectives. This role oversees a team of learning professionals and collaborates with leaders, HR partners, and subject matter experts to identify development needs and deliver innovative learning solutions across the employee lifecycle. The Senior Manager is responsible for fostering a culture of continuous learning through leadership, career development, compliance, and skills-based training programs. The role oversees the learning management system (LMS), manages an LMS Administrator, and leads the deployment and reporting of quarterly and annual enterprise compliance training initiatives. Additionally, the position manages learning-related vendor partnerships and budgets, leverages data and analytics to measure program effectiveness and learning outcomes, and drives continuous improvement of the employee learning experience.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive learning and development strategy that aligns with the company’s goals and objectives, addressing the skills gaps and the ongoing development of employees, from the time of hire and throughout their careers.
  • Lead and manage the Learning & Development team, providing supervision, guidance, and support.
  • Collaborate with leadership and key stakeholders to evaluate organizational training and development needs and priorities.
  • Partner with the subject matter experts to support the instructional design, reporting, and delivery of compliance and regulatory courses to employee’s organization wide.
  • Design, implement, and manage innovative learning programs, such as workshops, training materials, e-learning modules, instructional videos, and other educational resources.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including department heads and HR partners.
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous learning and development throughout the organization.
  • Monitor and evaluate the learning experience through feedback mechanisms and prioritizing and implementing improvements.
  • Identify and work with vendors and external partners to manage and enhance learning experiences where needed.
  • Manage the budget and spending for learning offerings, ensuring spend is aligned with projections.
  • Stay current on talent management trends, advancements, and best practices in learning and development, leadership, and career development; contribute innovative ideas; and share talent trends across HR.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, Business, Human Resources, or a related field required.
  • 10 years related experience at the corporate level with a minimum of 3 years designing and delivering learning and leadership development solutions.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in learning and development, with a focus on managing people and teams.
  • Proven experience with designing and delivering learning programs at both the corporate and field location level.
  • Expertise in modern e-learning technologies and tools for developing and delivering training in digital and in-person modalities.
  • Interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate with top management and influence team members. Solid consulting, coaching, and development skills.
  • Experience in management and oversight of Learning Management Systems.
  • Strong end-to-end project and program management skills with the ability to influence without formal reporting authority.
  • Strong communication planning and execution skills (oral and written) with the ability to effectively generate awareness of learning and development programs.
  • Strong classroom management, facilitation, and webinar delivery skills.
  • Ability to work productively in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for working with all employee levels within the organization.
  • Applied knowledge of learning theories and instructional design methodologies and experience with blended learning techniques (e-learning, instructor led, etc.)
  • Experience in organizational development and/or organizational performance consulting.
  • Experience implementing organizational effectiveness initiatives that promote employee engagement.
