Summary

Trexon is a manufacturer of specialty cable, wire harness and interconnect solutions serving leading customers in the space, defense, medical, industrial and other specialty end markets. The business is made up of seven business units across the United States, with revenue in excess of $200 million and ~ 900 employees. Trexon is part of Amphenol Corporation (NYSE: APH), a global leader in interconnect and sensor solutions.

The Senior Manager, IT Infrastructure leads the infrastructure function for Trexon and is the technology leader for all non-application infrastructure across the business. The role owns the network, cloud and server environment, identity, end-user computing, backup and recovery, and IT service delivery at every site. ERP and application development are supported by separate teams.

The Senior Manager leads the corporate infrastructure team and works alongside IT resources based at the business units. The role is accountable for delivering through that team: running a clear intake and prioritization process, maintaining a realistic project roadmap, assigning and sequencing work, and holding the team to committed dates. Technical depth is expected, but the primary measure of the role is the reliability of the environment and the predictability of delivery across sites, not necessarily individual hands-on output.

Security operations are delivered through managed providers, including endpoint detection and response and a managed SOC and SIEM service. The Senior Manager owns those relationships and the escalation, vulnerability and remediation processes that sit behind them. The role also co-leads the CMMC Level 2 implementation alongside the IT Technical Lead, who has been driving the program to date, and an external implementation partner, against tight timelines.

Integration with Amphenol raises the standard for IT internal controls. The Senior Manager is responsible for strengthening controls and procedures across the Trexon IT organization and for installing the recurring routines that keep them running, documented and evidenced. The role interfaces periodically with Amphenol IT leadership on standards, reporting and reviews.

Effective communication is integral to the role. The Senior Manager must translate technical risk, cost and options into terms site and corporate leadership can act on, and set expectations the team can meet. The ideal candidate combines credible technical depth across network, cloud and infrastructure with the project management discipline and presence to operate as a leader.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the design, operation and reliability of Trexon’s infrastructure environment across all sites, including network and connectivity, servers and virtualization, cloud, storage, backup and end-user computing.
• Lead, develop and hold accountable the corporate infrastructure team. Set priorities, assign and sequence work, manage coverage across locations, and build technical bench strength.
• Partner with site-based IT resources and business unit leadership to set common standards, coordinate support coverage and deliver projects at the sites.
• Own project intake, prioritization and delivery for infrastructure. Maintain the project portfolio and roadmap, scope and estimate work, set achievable timelines, delegate execution and report status, risks and trade-offs to leadership.
• Own IT service delivery and support for the sites, including incident and request management, escalation paths, service levels, and measurable response and resolution performance.
• Own business continuity and disaster recovery for infrastructure, including backup and replication design, recovery objectives, documented recovery procedures and periodic restore testing.
• Co-lead the CMMC Level 2 implementation with the IT Technical Lead and an external implementation partner, covering system boundary and enclave design, access control, logging and evidence retention, and meeting committed timelines.
• Strengthen IT controls and procedures across the Trexon organization to meet Amphenol standards, and install the recurring routines that sustain them, including access and privileged account reviews, change management and software compliance. Support internal and external audit requirements with documented evidence and timely remediation.
• Manage outsourced security services, including endpoint detection and response and the managed SOC and SIEM relationship. Own alert escalation, vulnerability and patch management, and timely remediation at the sites.
• Own identity and access management, including the joiner, mover and leaver process, privileged access, multi-factor authentication and periodic access reviews.
• Standardize the infrastructure estate across sites and reduce one-off configurations and technical debt.
• Own vendor and contract management for infrastructure, telecom and managed services, including selection, performance management, renewals and support for commercial negotiations.
• Own the infrastructure budget, both capital and operating, including forecasting, asset lifecycle planning and cost transparency, and partner with Finance on spend approvals and reporting.
• Partner with the ERP and application development teams to ensure infrastructure supports application requirements, including environment availability, performance and coordinated change management.
• Maintain accurate documentation of the environment, including network diagrams, asset and configuration inventory, runbooks and standard operating procedures.
• Perform other job-related duties as requested by management.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience, is required.

Experience: Minimum eight (8) to ten (10) years of progressive IT infrastructure experience, including a minimum of three (3) years leading and developing technical teams. Demonstrated experience managing a portfolio of concurrent IT projects across multiple sites, including scoping, resourcing and delivery against committed dates, is required. Multi-site manufacturing or industrial environment experience preferred. Experience supporting aerospace, defense or space end market customers, and public company experience, are a plus.

Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of enterprise networking (LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, firewalls and wireless), Microsoft 365 and Azure, identity management, virtualization, backup and disaster recovery, and endpoint management. Working knowledge of NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC requirements; experience supporting a CMMC Level 2 implementation preferred. Experience managing outsourced security services and vendor relationships required. Familiarity with ITIL or similar service management practices preferred. Experience supporting ERP environments preferred; Epicor experience a plus. Relevant certifications are a plus. Training will be provided on internal Trexon and Amphenol processes and systems, as required for this position.
