Reports to: Head of Internal Audit - Europe Region

Contract: Full-time, permanent position

The role:

  • Developing strong business partnerships with the functions, divisions, and regions to ensure a highly collaborative working partnership, bringing transparency to the identification and evaluation of information technology risks, and developing methods to demonstrate robust coverage for information technology systems, processes, and associated risks.

  • Identifying opportunities for increased synergies and collaborations across the Internal Audit Plan for information technology-related risks and working with the Regional Heads of Internal Audit to enhance methodologies and operational processes for facilitating broader and deeper information technology risk coverage across the organisation.

  • Developing a strategic and robust annual Information Technology Audit Plan through established risk assessment processes. Maintaining accountability for delivering high quality information technology audits in alignment with scope, schedule and budget parameters whilst supporting other audit teams through the evaluation of information technology risks and controls.

  • Identifying the best approach for executing our information technology audit missions taking into consideration the geographical scope, required core competencies and necessary subject matter expert skillsets for completion (e.g., external third-party versus internal resources), regulatory requirements, roles and responsibilities and overall strategic vision.

  • Managing the appropriate use of co-source information technology internal auditors and leading the execution of information technology audit activities to build a high-performance work environment.

  • Providing oversight to a team of professionals and continuously monitoring the changing information technology landscape and risk environment to identify opportunities for further engagement. Ensuring audit professionals remain informed of emerging risks, industry best practices, changing regulatory landscape, and attending the relevant trainings necessary to perform the job responsibilities.

  • Responsible for assessing and enhancing the information technology audit work program, reviewing, observing, and analysing evidence, synthesizing observations, highlighting improvement areas, identifying recommendations, and communicating best practices.

  • Delivering high-quality executive-level communications on the results of audits and consulting projects via written reports and oral presentations to management.

  • Demonstrating deep substantive expertise in the subject matter of, and experience as a senior practitioner in, information technology internal audit, and a strong understanding and ability to apply risk management activities as well as detailed understanding of industry standard information technology risk frameworks, such as COBIT, NIST 800 Series and ISO.

  • Demonstrating strong experience evaluating system implementations and other large enterprise initiatives in real time, and evaluating risks and controls in emerging risk domains, including cyber and data protection and privacy.

  • Substantial experience of information technology internal audit and risk management with escalating levels of responsibility and authority.

  • Demonstratable experience in information technology audit plan development, delivery and management, project auditing, executive level reporting, proven collaborative engagement across the business functions, and assurance and audit activities, leadership of, and/or significant contributions to, transformational endeavours.

  • Ability to manage relationships and expectations with key stakeholders as well as effectively challenge and influence, as appropriate.

  • Excellent data analytics skills and use of data mining tools.

  • Strong intellectual curiosity and business acumen.

  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the organization.

  • Professional working knowledge / fluency of languages, particularly English and French.
