Job Description

In this role, you'll:


Be responsible for leading the Intelligence and Insights function for NSW Maritime, you will manage a high-performing team to deliver data and system support, performance insights, evidence-based decision-making, and project delivery, with a strong focus on prioritisation and high-value outcomes. You will lead technical specialists to manage systems and data and translate complex insights for a variety of audiences including senior management, frontline staff and external stakeholders.

You will provide strategic leadership and expert advice on performance, systems, operational intelligence, and regulatory alignment to strengthen boating safety, compliance, and organisational performance.

You will drive the development of robust frameworks and reporting that enable timely, informed decision-making across the organisation, fostering a culture where data is trusted, accessible, and used to continuously improve outcomes and enhance service delivery.

About you


You are a strong and engaging leader who mentors and develops high-performing teams, fostering a collaborative culture and building trusted relationships across multidisciplinary environments. You confidently lead technical specialists while effectively prioritising work and driving team outcomes.

You bring strong expertise and experience in Intelligence and Insights within a safety, transport-focused or other frontline operations environment, with a proven ability to lead, performance and systems management, operational insights and project delivery to improve customer and business outcomes.

You communicate with clarity and influence, presenting insights and data in a way that resonates with both technical and non-technical audiences.
