We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join the Life Product Department as Senior Manager, Innovation and Product Development

  • As part of the Life Product Management team, develop channel proposition strategy and oversee implementation of product, segment and initiatives to enable business growth and achieve company business targets
  • Lead end-to-end life insurance product development from ideation and feasibility analysis through design, approval, launch and post-launch optimization, partnering with Distribution (including frontlines and governance teams), Pricing, Operations, Marketing and IT to deliver channel-ready propositions for priority customer segments
  • Drive product innovation by introducing customer-centric features and value-added services (VAS), and by crafting compelling go-to-market strategies (e.g., positioning, channel readiness, launch approach) to support commercial outcomes
  • Lead research and insight generation by conducting Voice of Customer (VoC) and distributor (VoD) listening to gather customer and distributor insights and translate them into clear product/proposition design inputs and business cases
  • Champion insurance product initiatives with strong product intelligence and market research to meet business targets and facilitate strategic planning and business actions
  • Monitor and analyse product performance to provide strategic product recommendations for business growth and improvement; leverage performance and customer analytics to refine product strategy
  • Ensure effective product compensation schemes for various channels to drive desired sales behaviours
  • Maximise data analytics to identify target customer segments and business potential; develop segment strategies and proposition initiatives across channels to drive business goals
  • Build strong relationships and understanding with local and global insurance business and bank partners; identify business opportunities and share best practices
  • Oversee the development of insurance product marketing initiatives such as development of product collateral, product selling guide and relevant regulatory customer disclosures.
  • Provide ad hoc support in projects and initiatives as assigned
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience in life insurance product development and management
  • University degree; actuarial science degree and/or professional qualifications such as FSA or ASA (or equivalent) is an advantage
  • Actuarial pricing experience is highly preferable
  • Strong commercial acumen and technical depth, with the ability to connect customer needs, product mechanics, pricing/risk considerations, and distribution practicality into viable propositions
  • Strong presence with senior stakeholders, able to communicate independently and effectively with senior management of distribution teams and other key stakeholders
  • Proven track record of developing and launching innovative products and/or propositions, including end-to-end ownership from concept through launch and optimization
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, negotiation, influencing and project management skills
  • Team management experience with good leadership skills is preferred
  • Great sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective customer service processes
  • Excellent communication, proficiency in both English and Chinese
