Business Banking (BB) supports Australian businesses with market-leading banking, lending and growth solutions.

The Innovation & Ecosystems team leads Business Banking's customer innovation agenda. Innovation sits at the intersection of customer growth, productivity, technology adoption, ecosystem engagement and Australia's future economic competitiveness.

The team develops Business Banking's innovation strategy and translates it into practical customer propositions, strategic partnerships, thought leadership, banker capability and measurable commercial outcomes.

• Melbourne Institute & CommBank National Innovation Index
• Customer innovation capability programs
• Executive innovation thought leadership
• Ecosystem partnerships
• Innovation insights and research
• Innovation-focused customer engagement programs.

Reporting to the General Manager, Industry Growth & Innovation, you’ll be responsible for leading the execution of Business Banking's innovation agenda by developing and delivering strategic initiatives that strengthen CommBank's position as Australia's leading bank for innovative businesses.

You’ll lead Business Banking's engagement with Australia's innovation ecosystem while owning flagship innovation platforms including the CommBank Business Innovation Awards and the Melbourne Institute & CommBank National Innovation Index.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead Business Banking's innovation strategy, delivery and governance.
• Build strategic partnerships across the innovation ecosystem and represent CommBank externally.
• Drive key innovation programs, including the CommBank Business Innovation Awards and Innovation Index partnership.
• Develop innovation-led customer propositions and identify growth opportunities through market, customer and industry insights.
• Provide strategic advice to senior stakeholders and coordinate delivery across multiple business functions.
• Monitor emerging trends and measure customer, commercial and strategic outcomes.

• Experience in strategy, management consulting, partnerships or growth-focused roles within a complex organisation.
• Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to turn insights into measurable outcomes and business impact.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and build trusted relationships across customers, partners and industry networks.
• Experience leading strategic programs, partnerships, research initiatives or market-facing activities.
• Strong understanding of innovation, AI, digital transformation and emerging technologies.
• Ability to translate customer, market and research insights into growth opportunities, propositions and business strategies.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex issues and present clear recommendations to executives.
• Strong understanding of governance, risk and compliance within a regulated environment.
• Collaborative leader who builds trust, drives outcomes and role models CommBank's values.
