Job Summary

The Senior Manager, Industrial Engineering is responsible for leading and driving strategic industrial engineering initiatives across manufacturing operations, with a focus on optimizing production processes, improving efficiency, reducing costs, enhancing production capabilities, implementing advanced automation technologies, and ensuring scalability to support business growth. This role plays a critical part in supporting the development and implementation of best-in-class manufacturing systems and practices within a power supply manufacturing environment, ensuring the highest standards of quality, reliability, and operational excellence

This role will report to Director, Industrial Engineering.

Responsibilities

  1. Process Optimization & Efficiency
  • Lead and manage process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Analyze production workflows, material flow, and workforce utilization to identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Develop and standardize manufacturing processes to ensure consistency, repeatability, and scalability.
  • Monitor production cycle times and drive actions to reduce lead times and improve overall throughput.
  1. Capacity Planning & Production Scalability
  • Develop and maintain capacity models to ensure production readiness in alignment with business growth and demand fluctuations.
  • Plan and implement factory layout improvements to optimize space utilization, improve production flow, and enhance material handling.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new product introductions (NPI) and ensure smooth production ramp-ups.
  • Conduct simulations and scenario planning to anticipate capacity constraints and proactively address them.
  • Evaluate and implement advanced manufacturing technologies to support flexible and scalable production.
  • Lead the development of accurate capacity plans and ensure alignment with business forecasts and production schedules.
  1. Cost Reduction & Waste Elimination
  • Identify and execute cost reduction strategies through process redesign, automation, and resource optimization.
  • Drive waste reduction initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies to achieve cost savings and operational efficiency.
  • Evaluate and recommend advanced manufacturing technologies and automation solutions to reduce labor costs and improve production throughput.
  • Conduct value stream mapping and implement improvements to eliminate non-value-added activities.
  • Perform regular cost-benefit analyses to assess the impact of process changes and technology investments.
  1. AR Generation & Performance Reporting
  • Generate accurate and timely AR (Actual vs. Rated) performance reports for production processes.
  • Analyze AR data to identify gaps, deviations, and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop action plans to achieve rated performance targets and improve operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with production teams to drive performance improvements based on AR analysis.
  1. Industrial Engineering Team Leadership
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing industrial engineering team to support operational goals.
  • Set performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Drive the professional development of the team through technical training, certifications, and exposure to best practices.
  • Ensure alignment of the industrial engineering function with overall business strategy and operational objectives.
  • Encourage innovation and the exploration of new technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
  1. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Work closely with manufacturing, operations, quality, supply chain, and R&D teams to align engineering solutions with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure smooth implementation of process improvements and changes.
  • Engage with suppliers and external partners to evaluate new materials, equipment, and technologies that enhance manufacturing capabilities.
  • Represent the Industrial Engineering function in cross-functional meetings and provide data-driven insights to support decision-making.
  • Lead cross-functional projects aimed at improving end-to-end production processes and driving overall operational excellence.

7.Safety & Compliance

Ensure all industrial engineering activities adhere to safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Collaborate with the EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) team to implement and sustain workplace safety improvements.

Conduct risk assessments and ergonomic evaluations to reduce workplace hazards.

Promote a safety-first culture within the industrial engineering team and across manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • With 15+ years of experience in manufacturing, industrial engineering, or operations, including leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, capacity planning, quality systems, and Industry 4.0 concepts.
  • Experience in process improvement, cost reduction, automation, and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Proficient in CAD, ERP systems, MS Office, data analysis, and performance reporting tools.
  • Strong leadership, project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
