HealthPartners is looking to hire a Senior Hospice Manager to join our Hospice team! Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day.

Position Summary:

The Hospice Senior Manager is responsible for the overall management and operational oversight of the hospice program, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, compassionate care to patients and their families. This position works closely with centralized departments including Quality, Health Information Management, Referral Processing, and Staffing to ensure that hospice services are delivered in a seamless, patient-centered manner. The Hospice Manager will provide leadership to the hospice team, develop care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, and ensure that hospice services are compliant with regulatory standards and aligned with organizational goals.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of hospice operations, clinical practice, and regulatory requirements, along with the ability to lead effectively through complexity and change. They will be highly responsive and adaptable, with the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a calm and supportive presence. This individual will demonstrate strong emotional intelligence, sound judgment, and the ability to navigate challenging situations with professionalism and compassion. They will be skilled at building trust, influencing leaders and teams, and fostering collaboration across disciplines. The ideal candidate will also be committed to developing high-performing teams, supporting leaders through growth and accountability, and identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency, while maintaining a strong focus on quality patient care and exceptional team member experience.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday – Friday; Available for leader support calls as needed
  • The role will be considered On Site (4 days per week) and will float between locations based on needs. While the individual may primarily work out of one office, they will need to be present at each location throughout the month.
  • Hospice has four entity programs officing out of 8170, 4916 Saint Louis Park, 5803 Oak Park Heights, and Olivia Hospital.

Required Qualifications:

Education, Training or Degree

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing, health care management or other health care related field.
  • Five years supervisory/leadership experience including hiring, orientation and evaluation of personnel.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in hospice care, home health, or a related healthcare setting, with at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • In-depth understanding of hospice regulations, quality assurance standards, and interdisciplinary care models.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to supervise and support a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with patients, families, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of health information systems and electronic medical record (EMR) software.
  • Experience with budget management, resource allocation, and financial oversight.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to foster a patient-centered care culture and ensure the delivery of high-quality services.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education, Training or Degree

  • Master’s degree in nursing, Health Care Administration or related field

License/Registration/Certification

  • Certification as a Hospice & Palliative Care Nurse (CHPN) and/or Certification as a Hospice & Palliative Care Administrator (CHPCA)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Experience working within Union environments
