Job Description

Create your best future and join Westpac as a Senior Manager, Group Investigations

What’s the role?

As a Senior Manager in Group Investigations, you’ll lead and oversee complex investigations into serious misconduct and whistleblower matters across the Westpac Group, ensuring investigations are conducted with integrity, consistency, and procedural fairness.

In this role, you’ll manage your own caseload while also providing strategic guidance and coaching to investigators. You’ll ensure investigations meet internal standards and regulatory expectations, maintain high‑quality records, and share insights with senior stakeholders to strengthen conduct, controls, and operational resilience.

You’ll deliver outcomes safely by applying sound judgement, make an impact by influencing how misconduct risks are managed, and own investigations end‑to‑end from intake through to reporting and closure.

This is a permanent, full‑time position, ideally based in Sydney, with Melbourne also considered, operating under a hybrid working arrangement (3 days in the office).

What do I need?

  • Demonstrated experience leading and overseeing complex investigations, including misconduct and whistleblower matters
  • Background in legal, financial services, risk, compliance, or investigations
  • Sound knowledge of workplace investigations and relevant criminal or regulatory frameworks
  • Strong report writing capability, able to clearly and succinctly articulate complex findings
  • Confidence engaging and communicating with senior and executive stakeholders
  • Strong judgement, discretion, and ability to build trusted stakeholder relationships
