Senior Manager — Global Sustainability Engagements & Partnerships (EMEA)
Company:
Boeing United Kingdom Limited
The Senior Manager for Global Sustainability Engagements & Partnerships for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) will lead a regional team responsible for developing and executing collaborative sustainability partnerships with commercial airline customers, academic institutions, industry consortia, and government stakeholders. This role will shape offers and technical-commercial inputs for sales campaigns, design regional policy and advocacy approaches, and coordinate cross-Boeing engagement across Government Operations, Boeing Global, and the Commercial, Defense, and Services business units. The ideal candidate combines deep aerospace sustainability domain knowledge (operational efficiency, sustainable aviation fuels, non‑CO2 effects, carbon removals, emissions accounting) with proven partnership-building, program leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and grow a multi‑disciplinary regional team focused on commercial customer engagements, partnerships, and advocacy across Europe, Middle East, and Africa.
- Develop and execute engagement strategies with regional commercial airline sustainability teams to support sales campaigns and long‑term account sustainability roadmaps.
- Create, refine, and operationalize sustainability offers and value propositions (e.g., SAF adoption, operations efficiency services, emissions measurement and reduction packages) to support capture and proposal efforts.
- Build and sustain partnerships with academic institutions, research centers, industry consortia, NGOs, and government bodies to accelerate aviation decarbonization initiatives and collaborative R&D.
- Lead strategy development for policy topics and advocacy priorities in region (e.g., SAF policy, emissions accounting frameworks, non‑CO2 mitigation, market mechanisms), in coordination with Government Operations and Boeing policy teams.
- Serve as the regional Boeing sustainability ambassador—aligning cross‑functional internal stakeholders (Commercial, Defense, Services, Boeing Global) to a common strategy and ensuring consistent customer messaging.
- Translate technical sustainability concepts into commercial value and risk narratives for customers, sales teams, and executive leadership.
- Track and measure outcomes: customer commitments to SAF/efficiency improvements, partnership deliverables, policy wins or engagement milestones, and impact on sales pipeline.
- Represent Boeing at industry fora, conferences, and executive customer meetings; prepare executive briefings and thought leadership materials.
Success Metrics
- Leadership of a high‑performing regional team with clear roles and operating model.
- Conversion of multiple strategic airline engagements into identified offers or pilot projects supporting sales pursuits.
- Formalized partnerships/MOUs with academic or industry research partners focused on SAF, non‑CO2, or operational efficiency.
- Clear regional policy engagement plan aligned with Boeing Global and Government Operations and active dialogues with key regulators or industry bodies.
- Demonstrable contribution to revenue pipeline via sustainability-enabled offers and increased customer adoption of sustainability services.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- 5+ years of progressive experience in aviation or aerospace sustainability, airline operations sustainability, environmental policy, or related partnerships/alliances roles. Experience leading teams and complex programs in the EMEA region.
- Extensive knowledge in sustainable aviation fuels (SAF), operational efficiency and flight operations, non‑CO2 climate effects, carbon removals/removals markets, greenhouse gas accounting and reporting frameworks.
- Proven experience working with airline customers and translating sustainability into commercial offers or services.
- Demonstrated success in building partnerships with academia, industry consortia, NGOs, and/or government stakeholders.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with experience navigating matrixed organizations and aligning cross‑functional interests.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; comfortable engaging at executive and technical levels.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently across the region.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, economics, public policy, business, or related field; advanced degree preferred (MBA, MSc, MPA, PhD).
- Prior experience in a large aerospace OEM, airline, energy/SAF supply chain, or major aviation research consortium.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks relevant to aviation emissions (e.g., ETS, ReFuelEU Aviation, UK SAF policy) and regional policy levers in Europe, Middle East, and / or Africa.
- Track record in commercial pursuits or capture support where sustainability offerings materially influenced outcomes.
- Multilingual capability (e.g., French, Arabic, German) is a plus.
