Job Description

In accordance with established policies, procedures and standards, under the direction of the Director, Global Gas Solutions (GGS) is principally responsible for executing the activities of the global gas solutions team with emphasis on gas projects, including gas carriers, gas liquefaction and regasification related projects and systems. This includes management of GGS efforts which relate to the development of products and services; the identification, establishment and nurturing of client relationships; and rollout of Corporate initiatives related to the application of relevant technologies to our processes as well as the projection of our image as a technology leader in the marine gas fuels industry

What You Will Do:

  • Monitor developments affecting present and potential customers, and assist the Director of GGS in developing strong client relationships and actively promoting the services and capabilities of the ABS global gas business to customers of ABS.
  • Communicate with and provide support to owners, shipyards, designers and other stakeholders in support of ABS’ business development efforts and ongoing projects as directed by the Director of GGS. Where necessary streamline communications with internal stakeholders and assist resolving issues with external stakeholders on ongoing projects
  • Supports internal stakeholders as SME on gas related issues, including gas carriers, floating gas projects and gas and lower flash point fuel applications.
  • Serve as a technical leader within ABS, directing the work activities of other professional employees and organizing/motivating senior-level professionals
  • Maintains awareness of the product and service capabilities of the worldwide marine gas businesses, identifies improvement and developmental needs, recommends action to capitalize on prospective market opportunities, and makes recommendations for technology or technical tools and manpower skills necessary to implement new and improved products and services.
  • Engage in active participation in local, national and international organizations as required.
  • Participate in marketing ABS services related to NG with informational content for advertisement and articles as necessary. Participate in client visits, meetings, conferences, trade shows and seminars as related to NG industry as requested. Promote ABS and ABSC capabilities to existing and potential gas clients.
  • Supports ABS activities related to Rule development, identification of research and development needs and involvement in outside committees and organizations.
  • Assist the Director of GGS in business development efforts as needed

What You Will Need:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or recognized equivalent required
  • Eight (8) or more years of related experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to obtain a working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental Management System.
  • Detailed knowledge of FLNGs, FSRUs, Gas Carriers and Gas Fuel systems and other gas systems as applicable systems.
  • Excellent ability to communicate orally and in writing, complex and unique technical issues, as well as present them to clients and at public forums.
  • Good management skills to direct the work activities of other professional employees.
  • The human relations skills necessary to organize, direct and motivate senior level professionals. These skills are also necessary to develop strong client relationships at senior levels.
  • The ability to identify, analyze and solve complex and unique programmatic issues.
  • Strong familiarization with MS Office software, in particular Word, Excel, and Power Point.

Reporting Relationships:

Reports to a Director or higher-level position.
