Job Description

He / She will be responsible for leading end-to-end execution of Greenfield projects from conceptualization through commissioning and operational handover. The role involves strategic project planning, budget control, stakeholder management, contractor oversight, risk mitigation, statutory compliance, and ensuring project delivery within approved timelines, quality standards, and financial targets.

Project Planning & Strategy

• Lead project feasibility studies, project initiation, and business case development.
• Develop project execution strategies, schedules, and implementation plans.
• Define project scope, objectives, milestones, and key deliverables.
• Establish project governance structure and reporting mechanisms.

Project Execution

• Manage end-to-end Greenfield project lifecycle from land acquisition/support activities through commissioning.
• Ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets, quality standards, and safety requirements.
• Drive coordination among Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Operations, Finance, HR, and Legal teams.
• Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions where necessary.

Cost & Budget Management

• Develop and control project budgets and cash flow forecasts.
• Monitor project costs and optimize expenditure without compromising quality and safety.
• Review contractor bills, variation orders, and commercial claims.
• Ensure efficient utilization of project resources.

Contract & Vendor Management

• Lead contractor selection, evaluation, and appointment processes.
• Manage EPC, PMC, consultants, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Negotiate project contracts and service agreements.
• Evaluate contractor performance and ensure contractual compliance.

Design & Engineering Coordination

• Coordinate with design consultants, architects, and engineering teams.
• Review engineering designs, drawings, specifications, and project standards.
• Ensure constructability reviews and value engineering initiatives.
• Drive design optimization and innovation.

Risk Management

• Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans.
• Monitor project issues and implement contingency measures.
• Manage project change control processes.
• Ensure business continuity and project recovery plans.

Regulatory & Compliance Management

• Ensure all statutory approvals, permits, and licenses are obtained.
• Liaise with government bodies, local authorities, and regulatory agencies.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, labor, safety, and building regulations.
• Maintain project documentation and audit readiness.

Quality & Safety Management

• Promote a strong safety culture across project sites.
• Ensure compliance with HSE standards, company policies, and industry regulations.
• Monitor project quality through inspections, audits, and quality assurance programs.
• Lead incident investigations and corrective action plans.

Stakeholder Management

• Engage with senior leadership, investors, consultants, project teams, and external stakeholders.
• Present periodic project status updates to executive management.
• Manage client and stakeholder expectations effectively.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external project participants.

Commissioning & Handover

• Oversee testing, commissioning, and project closeout activities.
• Ensure smooth transition to operations and maintenance teams.
• Verify completion of punch list items and contractual obligations.
• Conduct post-project reviews and lessons learned workshops.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or equivalent).
• MBA/PGDM in Project Management preferred.
• PMP, PRINCE2, PMI-SP, or equivalent certification preferred.
• Additional certifications in Construction Management, Risk Management, or HSE are desirable.
