Role Senior Manager - Fund Operations & Regulatory Services

Location Lisbon (Portugal)

Employment Type Permanent

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager to lead the delivery of fund operations for a portfolio of Portuguese and international investment funds. The successful candidate will play a leadership, maintaining regulatory compliance, managing client relationships, and driving service excellence across fund administration activities.

The role requires strong experience with Portuguese fund structures, particularly FCRs (Fundos de Capital de Risco), and familiarity with CMVM regulatory requirements, investor onboarding, AML/KYC processes, and fund operations.

Key responsibilities:

Fund Administration Oversight:

  • Oversee the day-to-day administration of private equity, venture capital, real estate, and alternative investment funds.

  • Ensure service delivery is performed in accordance with client agreements, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.

  • Monitor fund lifecycle events, including fund launches, restructurings, liquidations, and investment transactions.

  • Contribute to client retention and revenue growth through proactive relationship management and commercial engagement.


Regulatory Reporting & Compliance:

  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of regulatory filings required by CMVM and other relevant authorities.

  • Monitor changes in Portuguese and European fund regulations impacting client structures.

  • Coordinate regulatory reporting obligations for managed fund structures.

  • Liaise with external auditors, legal counsel, depositaries, asset managers, and regulatory bodies.


Investor AML / KYC:

  • Oversee Investor AML and onboarding activities across multiple fund structures.

  • Review high-risk investor cases and complex ownership structures.

  • Coordinate with Compliance and MLRO functions on AML matters and regulatory inquiries.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Law, or related field.

  • Experience working within a regulated management company, fund administrator, AIFM, or financial services provider.

  • Experience servicing FCRs and/or Portuguese regulated investment vehicles.

  • Strong knowledge and practical experience in Portuguese GAAP (SNC), including the preparation and review of financial statements for Portuguese regulated entities and investment funds.

  • Demonstrable knowledge of CMVM regulations and reporting requirements.

  • Experience managing Investor AML/KYC frameworks and onboarding processes.

  • Fluent English and Portuguese required.
