Lead the Test & Back-End Equipment Engineering and Maintenance organization to ensure high equipment reliability, manufacturing performance, operational efficiency, quality excellence, and cost effectiveness. Responsible for driving equipment uptime, maintenance strategy, continuous improvement initiatives, capital investment planning, people development, and cross-functional collaboration to support factory and business objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead equipment engineering, maintenance, reliability, and technical support teams to achieve manufacturing performance targets.
  • Drive continuous improvement in equipment availability, reliability, MTBA, downtime reduction, and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
  • Provide technical leadership for equipment upgrades, automation initiatives, new equipment introduction, and process improvements.
  • Monitor factory performance and lead recovery actions for equipment-related interruptions and major downtime events.
  • Lead equipment-related root cause investigations and drive sustainable corrective and preventive actions.
  • Improve equipment-related quality performance through structured problem-solving methodologies such as RCA, 8D, 5-Why, and CAPA.
  • Develop organizational capability through coaching, training, succession planning, talent development, and performance management.
  • Manage departmental operating and capital expenditure budgets while optimizing manpower and resource utilization.
  • Review and approve equipment specifications, capital investment proposals, procurement activities, and asset governance requirements.
  • Partner with Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, Planning, Facilities, Finance, HR, and other stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, environmental, health and safety standards, and operational excellence programs.
  • Drive strategic initiatives that improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people performance.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum 12–15 years of experience in equipment engineering, maintenance, reliability, or manufacturing operations within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of leadership experience managing managers, engineers, supervisors, and technical teams.

Skills:

  • Proven experience in equipment reliability engineering, maintenance strategy, factory performance management, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance, TPM, Lean Manufacturing, problem-solving methodologies (RCA, 8D, 5-Why, CAPA), and project management.
  • Experience in new equipment introduction, equipment qualification, automation, and capital project execution.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing operational and capital budgets.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability in talent development, change management, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Excellent communication, decision-making, crisis management, and executive presentation skills.
  • Ability to lead strategic initiatives that deliver measurable improvements in reliability, quality, productivity, cost, and organizational capability.
