Job Description

Fahrenheit Advisors has been retained to assist our confidential client in their search for a Senior Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis. The role is based in a suburban New Jersey location just outside a major East Coast metropolitan area. Our client is a private equity–backed distributor serving life sciences, healthcare, and laboratory markets across North America. The business is in a phase of accelerated growth, driven by organic initiatives and strategic acquisitions, and is focused on operational excellence, scalable infrastructure, and long-term value creation.

The Senior Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis is a highly visible, hands-on finance leadership role within a fast-growing, private equity–sponsored operating company. This position partners closely with senior finance leadership and the executive team to drive financial rigor, operational insight, and data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Designed for a high-potential finance leader, this role blends deep analytical execution with strategic influence. The ideal candidate thrives in dynamic environments, builds sophisticated financial models from the ground up, and translates complex financial data into actionable insights that support growth, profitability, and value creation. As the business continues to scale through organic initiatives and acquisitions, this role offers a clear path for advancement within the finance function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Executive & Board-Level Reporting:
Prepare monthly management and investor reporting packages, ensuring transparency, accuracy, and proactive communication around performance trends and key metrics.
  • Operational & Commercial Analytics:
Develop and enhance customer, product, and channel-level profitability analyses to identify margin improvement opportunities and support pricing and commercial decision-making.
  • Cash Flow & Working Capital Management:
Lead analytical efforts focused on inventory efficiency, receivables performance, and vendor terms to optimize liquidity and free cash flow.
  • Forecasting & Financial Modeling:
Maintain rolling forecasts and short-term cash flow models, identify drivers of variance, and recommend timely corrective actions.
  • Transaction & Integration Support:
Support financial due diligence and post-close integration activities for acquisitions, including consolidation of reporting, systems alignment, and process standardization.
  • Business Partnership:
Act as a trusted financial advisor to operational leaders, facilitating regular performance reviews, cost discipline, and capital allocation decisions.
  • Systems & Process Improvement:
Drive enhancements to financial tools, reporting infrastructure, and ERP capabilities to support scalability and data integrity.

Qualifications & Capabilities

  • Experience:
7–10 years of progressive experience in financial planning, analysis, or related roles. Experience in private equity–backed, transactional, or fast-growth environments is strongly preferred.
  • Analytical Expertise:
Advanced Excel and financial modeling capabilities are required, including complex scenario modeling and integrated financial statements.
  • Operational Acumen:
Strong understanding of unit economics in operational or distribution-oriented businesses, including cost drivers and margin dynamics.
  • Execution Mindset:
Ability to perform effectively in a deadline-driven environment with shifting priorities and limited structure.
  • Communication Skills:
Proven ability to distill complex analyses into clear, compelling narratives for senior leaders and cross-functional partners.
  • Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.

Why This Opportunity

  • Leadership Exposure:
Direct partnership with senior finance leadership and regular interaction with executive stakeholders.
  • Career Trajectory:
Structured with long-term growth in mind, offering a pathway to broader finance leadership roles as the organization scales.
  • Meaningful Impact:
This role plays a central part in shaping financial strategy and executing the company’s value creation objectives.
