What’s the role?

The Senior Manager plays a key role in implementing and managing risk management and monitoring obligations in Financial Markets (FM), supporting consistent implementation and embedding of risk management framework, policies and controls in the FM Line of Business with a focus on the Chief Operating Office (COO), including Strategy, within Financial Markets and WIB Economics.

The role delivers business-facing BCM advisory services to the relevant FM business and partners with stakeholders on all matters of risk and control to provide safe, practical and sustainable solutions that support business objectives, growth and change.

The core focus of the role is to support the proactive management of operational and compliance risks, issues and incidents, control design and optimisation, and risk in change, while helping embed a strong risk culture that balances commercial, customer and regulatory needs.

What do I need?

  • Strong knowledge of financial markets, including key operational, compliance, and regulatory risks impacting the business.
  • Extensive experience in operational risk, compliance, business controls, or advisory roles within financial services, consulting, or audit.
  • Experience supporting incident and issue management, including root cause analysis, read-across activities, and strengthening control environments.
  • Strong judgement and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance risk, regulatory, and commercial considerations in complex or ambiguous situations.
  • Ability to translate policy and risk frameworks into practical, sustainable business solutions, while effectively influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and reporting capability, including advanced Microsoft Office skills, with experience using data and MI to identify risks and support control optimisation.
