We are seeking an experienced and strategic Group Senior Manager - Financial Crime Regulatory Engagement to join our Financial Crime Risk team and play a critical role in leading Crown's engagement with financial crime regulators across Australia.

About the Role

Reporting to the Group General Manager, Financial Crime Governance, this position is responsible for leading and managing Crown's financial crime regulatory engagement strategy across both State and Federal regulatory bodies.

You will serve as the primary liaison with regulators, including AUSTRAC, ensuring regulatory expectations are understood, communicated and met across the organisation. This role will also oversee regulatory audits, reviews, reporting obligations and independent evaluations conducted under the AML/CTF framework.

This is a highly visible role requiring strong stakeholder management capabilities, strategic thinking and extensive experience operating within a complex regulatory environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Crown's relationship and engagement with AUSTRAC on financial crime regulatory matters.
  • Coordinate responses to regulatory reviews, compliance assessments, audits and notices.
  • Manage engagement with State and Territory regulators on financial crime-related matters.
  • Maintain and continuously refine Crown's financial crime regulatory engagement framework.
  • Develop and deliver reporting to Boards and senior management regarding regulatory engagement activities and outcomes.
  • Prepare and oversee the submission of regulatory filings, including the AUSTRAC Annual Compliance Report and business profile updates.
  • Act as the primary contact for Independent Evaluations conducted under the AML/CTF Act and Rules.
  • Support collaboration between Crown's Financial Crime Intelligence Unit and external agencies, including AUSTRAC and the Fintel Alliance.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to ensure effective management of regulatory obligations and financial crime risks across the business.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Extensive experience within financial crime, AML/CTF, regulatory affairs, compliance, risk, law enforcement or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of Australia's financial crime regulatory environment and regulatory priorities.
  • Proven experience engaging with regulators and external government agencies.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to influence, challenge and engage executive leaders and Boards.
  • Strong strategic thinking and risk management capabilities.
  • A sound understanding of Crown's operating environment or similarly complex regulated industries.
  • Degree qualification in Law, Business, Risk, Compliance or a related discipline (preferred).
  • Relevant professional accreditation such as ACAMS or equivalent (highly regarded).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all required Casino Employee Licences across Crown's operating jurisdictions.
