In this role, you'll:
Be working as part of the Group Finance Branch, you will play a crtical role in Financial Accounting and Control.
You’ll lead the statutory reporting function for either Transport for NSW or the Rail Agencies portfolio, overseeing the full end‑to‑end process in a large, complex and high‑profile environment. You’ll be across the detail and the big picture, ensuring financial statements are accurate, compliant and delivered to a standard that can withstand scrutiny. Your background in infrastructure, construction or other asset‑intensive organisations gives you the grounding to navigate technical accounting challenges with confidence.
A core part of the role is strengthening internal financial controls. You’ll review existing processes, identify gaps quickly and lift overall assurance so senior leaders can depend on the numbers. You’ll play a critical role in shaping a more disciplined, consistent control environment that improves the quality, reliability and transparency of financial information. You’ll also lead and develop a team of six, setting clear expectations and guiding them through complex reporting cycles. You’ll build capability, coach through technical issues and maintain a focused, high‑performing team culture that delivers statutory reporting that is accurate, timely and audit‑ready.

About you
You’re an experienced finance leader (CA or CPA‑qualified ) experienced in large, complex organisations. You know statutory reporting inside out and bring strong internal controls capability. You’ve worked in infrastructure, construction or other asset‑intensive settings and you’re confident leading people, managing complexity, navigating standards and providing clear, grounded advice to senior stakeholders. You operate at pace, stay calm under pressure and bring a steady, credible presence to high‑stakes reporting.
Ultimately you lead with purpose — lifting standards and capability within your team, and above all, you’re a curious and impactful leader, with a strategic lens , who can influence at scale.
