Job Description

Job Expectations

We have an exciting opportunity at nbn for a Senior Manager Finance Investment Governance This role reports to the General Manager Corporate Finance.

A bit about your role

As the Senior Manager Finance Investment Governance, you will be the central role in managing nbn’s investment governance process, bringing clarity, structure and confidence to how investment proposals progress through approval pathways. You will guide stakeholders across the business on what is required to prepare robust submissions, why those elements matter, and how to navigate the end-to-end governance process, ensuring investments are progressed efficiently.

In this role, you will manage the flow of investment submissions, maintain strong oversight of approvals, and ensure actions and decisions are clearly tracked and followed through. You will bring a thoughtful project management mindset to a role that balances meaningful administration with senior stakeholder engagement, particularly during peak submission and meeting cycles. Alongside this, you will contribute to the development of nbn’s corporate plan by coordinating inputs, shaping content, and translating investment activity into clear and cohesive strategic narratives.

As a trusted advisor, you will also influence continuous improvement of investment governance frameworks, working collaboratively with partners across the business to refine processes and strengthen outcomes over time.

A bit about you

You bring a confident and collaborative approach, with experience across finance, commercial or investment-related roles where strong governance, structured processes and clear communication are essential. You are comfortable working autonomously, while also building relationships across diverse stakeholder groups, including senior leaders. You have strong written capability and enjoy turning complex information into clear, purposeful documentation that supports good decision-making.

Ideally, you have exposure to regulated or highly governed industries such as Telco, energy or utilities, and a sound understanding of financial principles that allows you to assess whether investment proposals address the right considerations. You are pragmatic, organised and calm under pressure, with a natural ability to navigate ambiguity and guide others through it.
