The Finance Manager role provides end to end leadership for management sales reporting and Financial Planning and Analysis across Asia Regional Controllers, with primary focus on the Insurance business of Manulife. The role is accountable for overseeing financial consolidation, forecasting, and annual planning, while evaluating organizational and analytical needs and driving the development of technical and reporting solutions.
Partnering closely with Regional Office and Asia Business Unit stakeholders, the Finance Manager ensures timely, accurate, and high quality financial deliverables, improves organizational efficiency, and applies expert financial judgment to resolve complex challenges and support effective decision making.
Position Responsibilities:

Partnering closely with Regional Office and Asia Business Unit stakeholders, the Finance Manager ensures timely, accurate, and high‑quality financial deliverables, improves organizational efficiency, and applies expert financial judgment to resolve complex challenges and support effective decision‑making.
Management Reporting
• Primarily responsible on the oversight and completion of end-to-end sales reporting process to ensure data integrity of Asia dashboards which are primarily used across all Asia markets, major distribution channels, and Senior Leadership Team.
• Perform first level periodic reporting review for both financial and non-financial sales metrics to enable better business decisions, manage the continuous evolution and delivery of management reporting.
• Work with stakeholders to identify reporting trends and highlight sales metrices that need management attention aligning the Regional Office and Asia Division strategic goals.
• Responsible in managing the stakeholders, timely and effective communication, and escalation in cases of issues/delays in the reports, lead the root cause analysis and action planning in cases of incidents, and providing of timely and relevant updates to stakeholders on the status and progress of resolution of issues.
Operational Support
• Manage the teams’ day-to-day processes promoting efficiency and team effectiveness.
• Effectively review task allocation across team members, provide training and quality review and coaching for other team members to ensure process expertise and knowledge is sustained across the team. Ensure capacity management support through recommending and assigning tasks between team members and monitoring the required business deliverables.
• Ensure the delivery of excellent customer service by proactively promoting client centricity.
• Provide guidance, coaching and technical training to junior team members on building financial, analytical and soft skillsets
• Possess advanced business and technical skillset to support multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment,
• Demonstrate and provide guidance on using new technology to finance to cultivate tech savvy personnel and improve overall finance owned processes.
Required Qualifications:
• Required level of education -Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Accounting or Finance
• CPA and/or advanced degree highly preferred
• 8 to 10 years of related experience including solid understanding of financial reporting, project management skills and a proven ability to collaborate across functions within an organization
• Required years of experience – 5-10 years of financial analysis experience working at a senior level
• Specific experience required –used to working with senior management, Boards and legal departments
• Technical Skills - Proficiency in analysis and modeling
• Communication skills - Strong verbal and written skills, ability to present to large groups
• Industry Knowledge - strong knowledge of insurance operations and industry regulations and operations
• Experience working in financial institutions in a financial analysis/consulting role
• Strong computer skills and an expert proficiency using MS a must
• Ability to effectively translate business process steps to technology use cases and requirements

• Possess ability to create complex financial models
• Possesses strong ability to draft financial reporting narratives
