The Opportunity
We are currently seeking aseniormanager,executiveinternalcommunications,to lead executive and internal communicationsforAbbott’s diabetescare business Thepositionreportsto theseniordirector,publicaffairs.
Theseniormanagerwill develop communications plansthat helpdiabetes careemployees understand the business strategyand inspire them to be powerful advocates for Abbott.Theroletranslatesstrategyintoactional plansaround executive leadership and internal communications. Thposition requireshigh-quality, detailed execution,liaising with business executives, leadership teams, subject matterexpertsand Abbott’s corporate employee communications teams to ensure alignmentand consistency.
WhatYou’llDo
Leadexecutive andinternal communications forAbbott’s diabetescare business, partnering closely with theexecutivevicepresident andothersenior leaders to communicatebusinessstrategy, priorities, andother topics
Develop and execute employee communications strategies that educate, engage, and motivate a global workforce, aligning internal messaging with external campaigns, partnerships, and business priorities
Own keybusiness-specificcommunication channels and forums, including the annualall‑employeemeeting, virtual leadershipforumsanddigital platforms, ensuring content istimely, relevant, andhigh‑impact
Work with executive vice presidentand other senior leaderson internal presentations andexternalspeaking opportunities
Serve as the primary liaison with Abbott’s corporate employee communications teamto coordinateandsupportAbbott‑wideinitiatives and amplifydiabetes careemployee and patient stories acrossAbbott-widechannels
Drive employee engagement around major business announcementsandenterprise‑wideinitiatives
Partnerwith HR onpriority topics,including employeeengagementand communications that support organizational objectives
Collaboratecross‑functionallywith Global Marketing and External Affairs,Abbott’s internal creative agency,IT, andother functionstoexecutecommunications
Manage global communications projects, vendor relationships, budgets, and agency resources in close partnership with thesenior director
May include some external communications work, including media relations and/or externally storytelling,contentor social media, as the team needs
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree incommunications,journalism, publicrelationsor related field
8+ years of experience incommunications, with a deep understanding ofexecutive and internal communications
Consistenttrack recordof excellent writing,communicationsand project management skills
Experience working with and counseling senior management
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in consumer, healthcare, and/or technology communications
Exhibit anticipatory thinking, strongjudgmentand executive presence
Able to achieve results while dealing with ambiguity, discretion, and a rapid pace of change
Understand how to work within a matrixed organization
Ability tocommunicatepersuasively and influence others
Experience managing other aspects of corporate communications, including media relations and public relations, is a plus

Anticipated travel of5-10%
The base pay for this position is
$148,700.00 – $297,300.00
In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
