Job Description

Qiddiya Investment Company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager - Environmental Permitting to lead and manage the environmental permitting processes essential to our large-scale development projects. This role is critical to ensuring that Qiddiya obtains and maintains all necessary environmental permits in compliance with national and international regulations, thereby supporting sustainable project execution and operational excellence.

The Senior Manager will oversee the preparation, submission, and follow-up of permit applications as well as liaise with regulatory bodies and stakeholders to facilitate smooth approval processes. You will provide expert guidance on environmental regulatory requirements and coordinate with internal teams to integrate permitting requirements into project planning and implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all aspects of environmental permitting for Qiddiya’s development projects in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to streamline permitting processes and ensure timely acquisition of necessary approvals.
  • Prepare, review, and submit environmental permit applications and related documentation.
  • Engage and maintain strong working relationships with regulatory agencies, government bodies, and external consultants.
  • Monitor changes in environmental legislation and update permitting practices accordingly.
  • Provide expert advice and support to project teams and management on environmental permitting requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure environmental compliance throughout project lifecycles.
  • Track permit statuses, renewals, and compliance reporting to mitigate risks of non-compliance.
  • Lead or support environmental impact assessments and audits as required for permitting purposes.
  • Facilitate training and knowledge sharing related to environmental permitting regulations and processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree is advantageous.
  • At least 8-10 years of relevant experience in environmental permitting within large-scale infrastructure or development projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations, permitting processes, and compliance standards in the region.
  • Proven track record in successfully managing complex permitting applications and regulatory interactions.
  • Strong understanding of environmental impact assessments and environmental compliance monitoring.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and with external agencies.
  • Highly organized with strong project management capabilities and attention to detail.
  • Relevant certifications in environmental management or permitting are desirable.
