Join us as a dynamic EH&S leader responsible for overseeing Environmental, Health, and Safety programs at ourWest Des Moines & Carroll, Iowa sites, including support for. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with Senior and Line Management to develop and execute effective EH&S programs that drive significant performance improvements aligned with company EH&S requirements and strategic plans.

As a strategic leader, you will provide direction, leadership, and technicalexpertiseto enhance EH&S initiatives, ensuring a safe workplace and full compliance with local, state, federal, and RTX EH&S regulations. We areseekinga proactive, dedicated professional with strong leadership, communication, and analytical abilities to drive excellence in EH&S and support our business operations effectively.

What You Will Do

• Provides leadership and builds partnership at site across all levels of the organization to foster EH&S culture improvement.

• Partners with site leadership and supervision to ensure EH&S regulatory compliance with federal,stateand local regulations.

• Responding appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise;establishand supporttimelyincident investigation process to preventreoccurrences

• Ensurestimelyrisk assessments and adequate controls for EH&S processes; oversees comprehensive EH&S training program;maintainsreadiness for oversight audits (assurance reviews, program evaluations, compliance reviews, OSHA VPP, ISO 14001, etc.)

• Buildssynergies between EH&S and Facilities and Equipment Management for efficient deployment of resources to achieve mutual goals.

• Providestimelyinformation and guidance to the site EH&S leadership team, site EH&S committee and Sub-committees, including EH&S performance trends and root cause corrective actions for injuries and near misses.

• Provide technicalexpertiseand consultation to the site’s EH&S management committee on environmental sustainability initiatives to minimize water use, greenhouse gas generation, hazardous waste generation and increase recycling rate.

• Minimal travel for conferences, assurance review, Collins’ sites

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires University Degree andminimum10 years prior relevant experience oran Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience orin absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience 

• U.S. citizenship isrequired, as only U.S. citizens are authorized toaccess information under this program/contract ​

• Minimum of 4 years Leadership experience

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience with legal EH&S requirements including OSHA/EPA requirements

• Safety certifications

• Experience in conducting technical assessments of processes and equipment in a manufacturing environment, and both factory and office ergonomic assessments.

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
