In this role, you'll:


This is a senior leadership opportunity within the Finance, Technology & Commercial (FTC) Division, responsible for leading the function that enables the Division to operate effectively and efficiently across planning, governance, performance, risk, people, and executive coordination activities.


As a trusted advisor to senior leadership, you will lead a multidisciplinary team delivering critical business functions including divisional planning, governance and risk management, business operations, executive coordination, workforce planning, audit oversight, performance reporting, and stakeholder engagement.


This is a broad and influential role that sits at the centre of divisional operations, providing oversight across multiple enabling functions and ensuring the Division maintains strong alignment to organisational priorities and strategic objectives.


You will lead the development and implementation of business plans, operating rhythms, performance frameworks, governance processes, and reporting mechanisms, ensuring executives have access to high-quality insights and information to support timely and effective decision-making.


The role requires extensive collaboration across the broader Transport network, building strong relationships with executives, peers, and enabling functions to drive consistency, alignment, and successful organisational outcomes.


You will provide strategic advice on emerging priorities, business performance, governance obligations, people planning, organisational effectiveness, and risk management, while ensuring the Division remains responsive in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment.


A key focus will be driving cohesion across diverse functional areas, establishing clear operating practices, and ensuring the Division is equipped to meet current and future business needs through strong planning, engagement, and execution.


This is a highly visible role requiring strong judgement, adaptability, and the ability to operate effectively across multiple priorities simultaneously.


This role is based within the FTC Division and requires a minimum of four days per week in the office

About you


You are an experienced senior leader with a strong background in business management, strategy, planning, governance, operations, or executive services within large and complex organisations.


You are a highly capable business administrator and business partner, bringing a broad skillset across planning, governance, stakeholder engagement, performance management, and organisational effectiveness.


Qualifications in Business, Economics, Commerce, Public Administration, or a related discipline will be highly regarded, supported by significant experience operating in complex corporate or government environments.


You have demonstrated success providing high-level advice to executive leadership, translating complex information into clear recommendations that support evidence-based decision-making and organisational outcomes.


You are a strong relationship builder with high emotional intelligence and exceptional communication skills, able to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels across the organisation.


You bring proven experience leading teams through change while maintaining clarity, alignment, and a strong customer-focused mindset. You are comfortable working across multiple business areas simultaneously and thrive in environments where competing priorities require strong judgement and effective prioritisation.


You are highly organised, collaborative, and adaptable, with the ability to balance strategic thinking and operational execution while maintaining focus on delivering outcomes.


With a proactive and solutions-focused approach, you are passionate about enabling business success, supporting senior leaders, and driving operational excellence across one of Transport's most important corporate functions.
