We’re currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Manager, Digital Assets and Currencies Risk.
HSBC continues to grow and develop its portfolio of innovative digital assets and currencies (DACs) products to benefit our customers, including tokenised bonds and gold, stablecoins, and tokenised deposits, while navigating an evolving technology, industry and regulatory landscape. The DACs Risk Team within Group ERM are risk SMEs in DACs, and are responsible for ensuring a comprehensive, consistent and robust approach to Risk oversight of DACs across HSBC globally. The team supports the safe adoption of DACs by setting clear enterprise-wide expectations.
They are responsible for the delivery and ongoing oversight of the DACs Risk Framework, including monitoring adherence to the Framework and Risk Appetite. The team conduct and co-ordinate risk assessments for new or materially changed DACs products, to ensure appropriate due diligence and post-launch monitoring. In addition, they coordinate engagement with the 1LOD and across key Risk areas, including conduct, technology, financial crime, legal/ regulatory functions. The team support a consistent leadership narrative on DACs, including to industry and regulators, to enable aligned decision-making across the bank; support and run Risk governance around DACs; and help support understanding of DACs risks across the Group, including via training and guidance.
The role holder will support the delivery and day-to-day oversight of the DACs Risk Framework, translating enterprise expectations into practical controls and monitoring. They will own and executes risk assessments for new or materially changed digital asset products, ensuring proportionate due diligence, clear risk outcomes, and defined post-launch monitoring. Drives cross-functional engagement across stakeholders to resolve issues at pace and support consistent decision-making.
