Founded in the Queensland outback in 1920, Qantas has grown to be Australia’s largest regional, domestic, and international airline. Qantas has a range of subsidiary businesses that support the overall operations of the Group. The Qantas Group’s main business is the transportation of customers and freight using two complementary airline brands — Qantas and Jetstar — operating regional, domestic, and international services.
Qantas is on a tech transformation journey, transforming our existing legacy data warehouses to a modern Snowflake-based data platform. The Senior Manager, Data Product and Engagement leads Qantas's the data product part of that transformation journey, and holds accountability for the data product portfolio across Qantas Airways, QantasLink and shared business functions. The role will convert fragmented and frequently competing domain demand into a coherent, sequenced portfolio of governed data products.
The role holds primary accountability for the portfolio of data products delivering the outcomes committed to the business. It is accountable for adoption as a measured outcome: consumers migrating off legacy platforms, actively using what is delivered, and the legacy assets they replace being retired. It is accountable for the service and resilience standards required as data products become business critical. It owns the definition of a data product for Qantas and the standards it must meet.
The role leads a team of Data Product Leads, each accountable for a business domain and the technical ownership of the data products within it, and delivers through specialist capability. As the principal engagement point with senior business leadership, it is accountable for establishing business ownership of data products, so that purpose, value case and adoption sit with the business while the product as a technical asset sits with this role and its team.
