The Royal Caribbean Group’s HR Technology Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Senior Manager, Data Governance reporting to the Senior Director, Product Management.

This position is onsite and based in Mexico City.

Position Summary:

The Senior Manager, Data Governance leads the enterprise-wide governance of employee data within Royal Caribbean Group’s HR systems and processes. This role develops and enforces data management standards, oversees HR data integrity frameworks, and ensures adherence to compliance policies across all systems. Managing a team of seven data professionals, this position drives consistency, accuracy, and transparency in workforce data, enabling informed decision-making and operational excellence across Human Resources.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leads the HR Data Governance function, ensuring data accuracy, compliance, and streamlined operations across multiple HR systems.
  • Develops and implements organizational data management policies, protocols, and governance frameworks.
  • Oversees a team of analysts and specialists focused on maintaining and auditing employee data integrity.
  • Partners with HR leadership, IT, Finance, and Legal to align governance initiatives with business priorities and regulatory standards.
  • Establishes governance metrics and reports on data accuracy trends, risk exposure, and audit results for executive review.
  • Drives automation and technology enhancements to improve data quality, reporting efficiencies, and control mechanisms.
  • Provides strategic leadership in promoting a culture of data stewardship and accountability across global HR operations.
  • Manages the team’s workload, development, and performance, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
  • Ensures compliance with privacy, security, and labor data regulations across jurisdictions.
  • Represents HR Data Governance in cross-functional committees and contributes to system upgrade, policy rollout, and integration projects.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field required.
  • Master’s degree or advanced certification in HR Systems, Data Management, or Analytics preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in HR Operations, HRIS, or Data Governance, including 3+ years in people management.
  • Experience managing large-scale HR data governance programs for global organizations.
  • Strong background in HR systems such as Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, or Oracle HCM.

Technical/Functional Skills:

  • Proven expertise in data governance, master data management, and compliance protocols.
  • Strong understanding of HR workflows, system dependencies, and employee lifecycle data models.
  • Skilled in reporting and analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau) and database management concepts.
  • Ability to design governance models that align with business strategies and regulatory requirements.

Leadership/Behavioral Competencies:

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate data governance goals into actionable programs.
  • Proven success managing and developing teams and promoting a culture of operational excellence.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills across global business units.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive collaboration and lead change across HR systems and process environments.
