Udhyam Learning Foundation (Udhyam) is on a mission towards Making Bharat Entrepreneurial. Our programs:

1. Udhyam Shiksha works on developing entrepreneurial mindsets among the youth in the government high schools and enabling them to achieve their potential, having impacted ~24,00,000 learners across 10 Indian states.
2. Udhyam Vyapaar focuses on nano businesses in India, and solving large problems faced by them, at scale; having already enabled up to a 27% income uplift for 5000+ entrepreneurs.

Udhyam Shiksha’s Program Model:

Udhyam Shiksha works in collaboration with the state governments to implement the Entrepreneurial Mindset Curriculum (EMC) in grades 9th to 12th. EMC is designed to build agency in learners by providing real world learning opportunities to high school students across 4 years. EMC is designed on the foundations of experiential learning and encourages learners to make choices, work in teams, go out of their comfort zones and try new experiences.

About the role

Building a curriculum that genuinely nurtures student agency inside the government education system is a deeply iterative act of design. It requires moving past what looks good on paper to what actually changes how a student thinks, chooses, and acts. We believe that student agency isn't taught through content alone; it is designed into the structure of every learning experience, task, and interaction a student has with the curriculum.

At the same time, curriculum quality at scale is shaped by persistent tensions between what research says should work and what the ground tells us actually does, between designing for one context and designing for hundreds of diverse ones. As a result, there is often a gap between curriculum that is well-researched and curriculum that produces real shifts in students.

This role is for someone who has spent time wrestling with these tensions and developed a grounded point of view on what makes learning design travel from a good idea to a classroom reality. You know how to question your own assumptions, test them against evidence from the field, and iterate without losing sight of the bigger idea you're building toward. You've seen the cost of designing in isolation from users, and you've built instincts for co-designing with teachers and students rather than for them.

This means treating every design choice as a hypothesis: naming the assumption it rests on, building in the evidence that would prove it wrong, and having the discipline to revise it when the ground tells you something different. It also means benchmarking relentlessly against high-performing systems and emerging research so that what we build here holds up not just locally, but against the best in the world.

At Udhyam, we are designing within real constraints- the realities of government school classrooms, teacher workload, diverse contexts, and the discipline scale demands. This role requires someone who can hold conceptual ambition and ground-level pragmatism at once: someone who prototypes early, tests with real teachers and students, and treats classroom observation as a primary source of truth.

Sitting at the heart of the curriculum and pedagogy team, you will own the curriculum design vertical—questioning assumptions before designing, building learning experiences that create real shifts in student thinking, and institutionalising a culture of evidence-backed iteration across the team. You will work closely with the teacher development lead, M&E, state operations partners, and SCERT stakeholders, and contribute to shaping what excellent, agency-building curriculum design can look like within public education systems in India.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Research and Design
• Articulate the objectives of curriculum design at different stages and lead the design processes by designing frameworks, leading reviews of designs.
• Standardize the design process and protocols across grades and designers/
• Research best practices in experiential learning, adolescent learning, entrepreneurial mindsets to continuously improve the design.
• Ensure and model high quality user feedback.
• Generate learning questions and hypotheses to observe the program efficacy on ground.
• Visit programs during implementation to gather insights & learn.
• Implementation/Program Management:
• Collaborate with
• the SCERT and Ops teams to align on the curriculum design and implementation.
• The M & E team to interpret data and its integration, review assessments etc.
• the product and tech teams for deeper student engagement and dissemination of designs.
• Team Development and management:
• Facilitate defining the scope of work and KRs of your team clearly.
• Ensure smooth alignment of your team with other teams.
• Coach the team on their developmental needs.
• Deepen skill and conviction of the team on design behaviours.
• Curriculum Leadership
• Co-work with the director and other leads in identifying goals/priorities, standardising design processes and facilitating cross learning within the team.
• Lead curriculum team processes in the absence of the curriculum director.
• Hire and induct new people in the team.

Skills, Experience and Mindsets:

• At least 12+ years of work experience in designing for scale at scale, curriculum design for public schools
• Having worked in a classroom setting for a few years would be an added plus
• Deep knowledge about theories of experiential learning, adolescent learning
• Ability to research, analyse data & articulate specific problems
• Ability to observe and assess the needs of users
• Skilled as a facilitator of small and large groups
• Highly creative & entrepreneurial
• Functional ability to speak and write in hindi
