Job Description

The Senior Manager, Platform Lead will provide technical directions and support across platforms and systems aligning with the technology roadmap within their domain. The Senior Manager will coordinate across various shared services groups within IT, software companies and service providers to successfully align, integrate, and enable new capabilities and operate existing platforms for Otsuka and our affiliates. The Senior Manager role will drive the operational and program delivery support across technology initiatives and solutions within their platform area. The position will be responsible for overseeing and contributing to the technical execution of the roadmap as well as maintaining and enhancing the existing productions solution in their platform domain.

Core Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

  • Platform Strategist: Working closely with the IT Business Partner , plan and develop the technical and architectural components of the capability roadmap in support of new business strategies and functional requirements. Review, analyze, evaluate new opportunities to improve, develop or integrate new technical capabilities into the end-to-end platforms/eco-systems. Ensure solutions being planned, take global needs into accounts, are architecturally flexible to extend to related business areas, and are not overly complex. Designs solutions that are maintainable and supportable.
  • Platform Implementation Technical Lead: Provide technical leadership for the new capability projects across assigned domain (internal, contractors, manage service providers, and software vendors); work hand-in-hand with the system delivery teams to reduce project risks, improve quality, and expedite delivery of fit-for-purpose solutions; ensure system design is aligned with the business needs, are scalable, sustainable, supportable, and have life cycle management plans (architecturally sound). Collaborate with the shared services within IT to improve our processes and methodologies for capability enablement and delivery. Help bridge the gaps and hand-offs issues between requirements / functional resources, development teams, and project leadership.
  • Platform Support Lead: Build and manage working relationship with managed outsourced service providers. Actively work with vendors to track, monitor and devise action plans to address incidents and problems occurring within their domain. Identify emerging or existing risks in applications and plan on ways to prevent them.
  • Subject Matter Resource: Communicates complex technical information to senior management and business stakeholders. Participates in various forums, conferences, and working groups to bring thought-capital and leading practices to the organization. Actively seeks and drives opportunities for continuous improvement of applications.

Qualifications

Knowledge/ Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of years 8+ years of experience providing solutions for business, developing and managing implementation of global platforms, with 3+ years of experience in Life Sciences.
  • Working knowledge of key processes within the relevant business area and various regulations governing the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Demonstrated solid presentation skills with the ability to influence and drive action including ability to effectively interface with all senior level functional area colleagues
  • Demonstrated solid interpersonal skill and proven high emotional quotient focused on issues & problem management.
  • Experience working with offshore based technical teams .
  • Functional and technical understanding of platforms within ones domain
  • Experience in delivering solutions using Agile methodologies, Project Management, IT SDLC and DevOps framework
  • Experience with Analytics, BI, and data modeling is highly preferred.
  • Experience in Operational Excellence - including but not limited to Continuous Improvement and Project and/ or Technical Management.
  • Hands-on experience in applying architectural principles, methods, and tools to business challenges.
  • Up to 10% travel is required, based upon business needs.

Educational Qualifications:

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree; preferably, a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or adjacent fields. Advanced degree in in sciences, business administration, or pharmaceuticals is optimal.

Technical Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Veeva/Salesforce or platforms
  • Experience with Snowflake and Tableau Server
  • Good understanding of Data Integration and APIs

Minimum $150,034.00 - Maximum $224,250.00, plus incentive opportunity: The range shown represents a typical pay range or starting pay for individuals who are hired in the role to perform in the United States. Other elements may be used to determine actual pay such as the candidate’s job experience, specific skills, and comparison to internal incumbents currently in role. Typically, actual pay will be positioned within the established range, rather than at its minimum or maximum. This information is provided to applicants in accordance with states and local laws.
