The Commerce & Retail Media team at dentsu leads strategy, activation, and optimization for a large buy-side Retail Media client. We are looking for a dynamic, solutions-oriented, and experienced Retail Media leader to join our growing team.
As a Strategic Account Lead, you will serve as the primary strategic partner across a portfolio of retail media suppliers and stakeholders. You will be responsible for developing growth strategies, identifying opportunities, solving complex business challenges, and driving strong client and partner relationships. You will work closely with Execution Leads to ensure flawless campaign delivery while focusing your time on strategic planning, performance insights, supplier engagement, and business growth initiatives.
This role reports to the Associate Director, Commerce & Retail Media.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary strategic lead across assigned supplier and stakeholder relationships, building trust and driving long-term business growth.
- Develop and oversee retail media strategies that align with client objectives, business goals, and performance KPIs.
- Translate business challenges into actionable media strategies, optimization plans, and growth opportunities.
- Lead strategic planning discussions, business reviews, and performance conversations with suppliers, clients, and internal stakeholders.
- Provide thought leadership and subject matter expertise across retail media, commerce, eCommerce, and digital marketing best practices.
- Analyze campaign and business performance to identify trends, opportunities, risks, and optimization recommendations.
- Partner closely with Execution Leads to ensure campaigns are launched, managed, and delivered accurately and efficiently.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex campaign, supplier, or business issues.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, retailers, vendors, and internal cross-functional teams.
- Coach and mentor junior team members, helping develop strategic thinking, client management, and retail media expertise.
- Collaborate with analytics, sales, activation, planning, and leadership teams to develop integrated solutions and drive business outcomes.
- Contribute to process improvements, training programs, best practices, and thought leadership initiatives across the organization.
- Stay informed on industry trends, platform innovations, emerging retail media capabilities, and evolving eCommerce opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Analytics, or a related field preferred.
- 6+ years of digital performance marketing experience in eCommerce, retail media, search, programmatic, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience leading large-scale retail media or eCommerce programs preferred.
- Deep understanding of retail media networks, eCommerce ecosystems, digital advertising platforms, and performance marketing principles.
- Experience developing and presenting strategic recommendations, business cases, and performance insights to clients or senior stakeholders.
- Proven ability to build strong client, supplier, and partner relationships while serving as a trusted advisor.
- Experience managing complex projects, competing priorities, and multiple stakeholder groups simultaneously.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to identify opportunities, solve problems, and drive solutions.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including mentoring, coaching, or developing junior team members.
- Experience managing budgets, forecasting, KPI development, and performance measurement.
- Familiarity with retail media and advertising technology platforms and related technologies preferred.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable business recommendations.
- Enthusiasm for retail media, performance marketing, innovation, and building scalable solutions for clients and partners.
The annual salary range for this position is $72,000 -$90,000. Placement within the salary range is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law.
