
The Child Safety and Wellbeing Service within the Department of Health Tasmania is dedicated to promoting and maintaining safe, supportive, and inclusive environments for children and young people across health services. Working collaboratively with healthcare professionals, leaders, and external stakeholders, the team provides expert guidance, policy oversight, education, and support to strengthen child safeguarding practices and ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements. Committed to a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement, the team plays a critical role in protecting the rights, wellbeing, and best interests of children and young people.
Provide leadership and direction across the Department to create a child-safe and trauma-informed culture, and to develop, implement and drive statewide strategies and actions to promote child safety and wellbeing. This includes ensuring that the Department is child-centred, engages with children and young people, and develops and embeds systems to ensure children are safe and supported.
Reporting to the Director of Child Safeguarding, you will manage the human, financial and physical operations of the Service, support child safety and wellbeing and culture, and oversee the delivery of service activities, including those related to the Child Safety and Wellbeing Action Plan.

The Department of Health Tasmania oversees various hospitals across the state, including the Royal Hobart Hospital, Launceston General Hospital, Northwest Regional Hospital, and Mersey Community Hospital, as well as district hospitals and ambulance services. Additionally, it provides community health, mental health, and primary healthcare services to the Tasmanian community through more than 300 sites.

$144,169 to $153,844 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
