
Founded in 1884, The Hong Kong Jockey Club (“the Club”) is a world-class racing club that acts continuously for the betterment of our society. The Club has a unique integrated business model, comprising racing and racecourse entertainment, a membership club, responsible sports wagering and lottery, and charities and community contribution. Through this model, the Club generates economic and social value for the community and supports the HKSAR Government in combatting illegal gambling.
The Charities and Community (C&C) Division manages strategic planning, grant donations, impactful project initiation, community engagement, and the day-to-day operations of the HKJC Charities Trust. C&C works with the Government, NGOs, and community partners to proactively identify root causes of social issues and address them through innovative approaches and cross-sectoral collaboration.
The department contributes to the Institute of Philanthropy’s purpose of working towards the betterment of societies everywhere through impactful philanthropy, by exploring and demonstrating the potential of impact capital approaches in catalysing greater quantum and quality of capital for good.
Reporting directly to Head of Department / Executive Manager, the job holder is responsible to develop, manage and implement an impact capital strategy and related projects. The job holder will develop insights and knowledge in impact capital instruments and funding models, and build network and trusted relationships across a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders, including local and regional practitioners and partners.

Through this model, the Club generates economic and social value for the community and supports the HKSAR Government in combatting illegal gambling. In all, the Club’s total contribution to Hong Kong in 2025/26 was HK$39.3 billion, comprising HK$29.3 billion in betting duty and profits tax, HK$1.4 billion in Lotteries Fund contributions, and HK$8.6 billion in approved charitable donations. During this period, the Club provided employment to 20,970 full-time and part-time jobs.
