As the province’s largest energy provider with more than 100 years of knowledge and experience, we proudly deliver renewable energy, natural gas, electricity and propane to 1.3 million customers.

We're actively seeking new talent to join our mission of delivering a stronger energy future in B.C. As one of BC's Top Employers with a diverse team of over 2,700 employees, we are committed to a safe and inclusive culture where each of us can connect, belong, and grow. Join us, and together, let's shape a brighter future for B.C.

You are a strategic mastermind who can balance the needs of customers, partners, municipalities and regulators. You instinctively understand how to design customer-centric programs and build strong, collaborative relationships that get results.

As a senior leader within FortisBC’s Conservation & Energy Management (C&EM) team, you will shape the strategy, design, and delivery of our electricity and gas energy efficiency programs across British Columbia. You’ll lead a team of program professionals, guide program area strategies, and foster partnerships that enhance customer experience while advancing energy conservation, affordability, and greenhouse gas reduction goals.

This role blends strategic leadership, stakeholder collaboration, and operational excellence, ensuring programs deliver measurable impact for customers, communities, and the province.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the development and execution of C&EM residential, commercial and industrial program strategies aligned with corporate and regulatory goals
  • Provide leadership and coaching to Program Managers to optimize program design, delivery, and customer experience
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration to enhance end-to-end customer journeys across segments
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders, including communities, governments, and industry partners
  • Oversee program area portfolio planning, launch, delivery, and marketing initiatives to maximize energy savings and emissions reductions
  • Guide program improvements through data-driven insights, innovation, and continuous process enhancement
  • Lead multi-year planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial oversight for program portfolios
  • Ensure strong governance through regulatory filings, compliance reporting, and performance tracking
  • Identify and evaluate new opportunities, including development of business cases for emerging initiatives
  • Foster a high-performance culture by mentoring, developing, and empowering your team

What it takes:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field plus 12+ years of progressive experience in program design, marketing, business development, or communications. A combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Experience in demand side management (DSM), energy or utilities, and managing in a unionized environment are assets.
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and Project Management Professional (PMP) designations are assets.
  • Strong strategic thinking with proven ability to lead, influence, and build high-performing teams
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, relationship-building skills, advanced problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities
  • Strong financial and project management expertise (on time, on budget delivery)
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency, conservation principles, and electric/gas technologies with an understanding of regulatory environments, compliance, and policy impacts
  • Skilled in performance measurement, continuous improvement, and change management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and collaboration tools (Teams, SharePoint)
  • Knowledge of data privacy and cybersecurity principles
  • Valid BC driver’s license

In this role, you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.

Our engaging workplace offers a wide range of challenging opportunities, while being safe, inclusive, and diverse. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, while supporting life-long career development. We also encourage volunteerism and nourish the need to give back to your community.
