Job Description

The Senior Manager Business Finance – Commercial / Operations is responsible for driving the financial strategy, performance management, and analytics for the business unit. The role partners closely with senior stakeholders including the CCO, COO, SVP Terminal Operations, VP Retail, and VP Aeronautical to deliver financial insights and strategic guidance. The position oversees complex commercial and operational finance initiatives, manages advanced financial analytics projects, supports strategic decision-making through business cases and risk analysis, and leads budgeting, forecasting, and performance review processes. The role also ensures compliance with financial regulations and alignment with central Finance policies and reporting standards.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage relationships with senior stakeholders by providing practical and implementable financial solutions to commercial and operational finance challenges.
  • Lead and manage a team of analysts, ensuring effective delivery of leadership requirements and proper management of project pipelines and expectations.
  • Assess financial and operational issues, identify trends and patterns, and present insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Manage financial and data analytics projects to evaluate the impact of promotional campaigns, events, and strategic initiatives.
  • Clearly define problem statements, methodologies, assumptions, and insights to support commercial leadership decision-making.
  • Act as the financial lead in commercial strategy discussions and identify financial risks related to strategic projects.
  • Support prioritization of strategic initiatives through development of detailed financial business cases at both program and project levels.
  • Present financial risks, issues, and mitigation strategies to senior management.
  • Monitor and report financial performance of strategic projects to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Lead annual financial planning activities, including budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Guide business leaders in setting financial targets aligned with strategic goals.
  • Ensure accuracy and reliability of financial forecasts and adapt plans based on changing business conditions.
  • Facilitate regular financial performance review meetings with stakeholders.
  • Oversee preparation and delivery of accurate, timely, and business-focused management reports.
  • Advise on financial compliance matters and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Identify compliance gaps and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Serve as the key liaison between the business unit and the central Finance function.
  • Coordinate alignment on financial practices, policies, and reporting standards with central Finance teams.
  • Collaborate on cross-functional financial initiatives and contribute to central Finance strategies and decisions.

Requirements and Skills

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Ability to manage and influence executive-level stakeholders effectively.
  • Strong expertise in data analytics and handling large datasets.
  • Deep understanding of financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
  • Proven experience in financial risk management and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with capability to convert complex data into actionable insights.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including experience presenting to senior management.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders, including Finance and business unit leaders.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree or professional certification such as CPA or CFA is preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in financial management.
  • Demonstrated track record in leading financial analysis and strategic initiatives.
