Role Purpose:

The Senior Manager – Business Development (Vision Devices) will play a strategic growth leadership role, responsible for scaling the Vision Devices business by deep integration with Medical OPT, institutional & government market expansion, and creation of new care delivery and clinical business models.

This role goes beyond individual opportunity conversion and is accountable for building sustainable funnels, shaping portfolio strategy, influencing ecosystem partners, and institutionalizing Med–Vision collaboration across hospitals, government bodies, and emerging care platforms.

Strategic Accountability Areas:

1. Enterprise Funnel Strategy & Med OPT Integration

  • Own the end-to-end funnel strategy for Vision Devices in collaboration with the Medical OPT leadership and frontline teams.

  • Institutionalize a joint Med–Vision opportunity framework, ensuring structured identification, qualification, and conversion of opportunities across regions.

  • Translate market intelligence, clinical adoption trends, and customer insights into predictable pipeline creation models.

  • Act as the single-point strategic interface between Vision Devices and Medical OPT for growth initiatives.

2. New Hospital & Clinical Infrastructure Expansion

  • Lead to track new hospital openings, expansions, centers of excellence, and specialty clinics.

  • Influence early-stage hospital planning by positioning Vision Devices as standard-of-care infrastructure.

  • Engage CXOs, medical directors, and project consultants to embed ZEISS solutions into capex and long-term clinical roadmaps.

  • Build long-term strategic relationships with healthcare groups and chains.

3. Med–Vision Bundled Solutions & New Business Models

  • Conceptualize, design, and scale integrated clinical solutions (e.g., Myopia Clinics, Diagnostic + Therapeutic pathways, Centers of Excellence).

  • Lead the development of value-based propositions, solution playbooks, and ROI narratives for hospital decision-makers.

  • Drive joint customer engagements, executive presentations, and solution demos alongside Med OPT leaders.

4. Government & Institutional Business Leadership

  • Own the government and institutional business strategy for Vision Devices at state and central levels.

  • Identify, influence, and secure participation in rate contracts, tenders, and institutional procurement programs.

  • Work closely with distributors, consultants, and internal compliance teams to ensure flawless execution.

5. Ecosystem, Distributor & Stakeholder Leadership

  • Build and lead a high-impact distributor and partner ecosystem for institutional and government business.

  • Develop senior-level relationships with procurement heads, government officials, hospital groups, and influencers.

  • Ensure alignment between commercial objectives, service delivery, and long-term partnership value creation.

6. ZECN & Strategic Network Initiatives

  • Drive adoption of collaborative care models, digital integration, and patient journey programs.

  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to build scalable, defensible ecosystems around ZEISS solutions.

Education & Experience :

  • MBA / Master’s degree in Business, Healthcare Management, Life Sciences, or related discipline.

  • 8–12 years of progressive experience in medical devices, healthcare business development,

  • Proven experience in government / tender-based business, hospital projects, and complex solution selling.

  • Exposure to building new business models, partnerships, or ecosystems is strongly preferred.
