What’s the role?

Join Westpac's Group Audit team and play a critical role in providing independent assurance over the management of credit risk across our commercial, corporate and small business lending portfolios. You'll partner with senior stakeholders across the Group to assess the effectiveness of credit risk frameworks, identify emerging risks, and provide insights that support strong risk management outcomes. This is an opportunity to apply your deep credit expertise, commercial judgement and stakeholder influence in a highly visible role that helps strengthen one of Australia's leading financial institutions.

This is a permanent opportunity based in Sydney with hybrid working flexibility.

What do I need?

  • Strong expertise in commercial, corporate or business credit risk, with the ability to assess portfolio risks, lending practices and risk management frameworks.
  • The confidence and credibility to engage, influence and challenge senior stakeholders across business, risk and executive leadership teams.
  • Sound knowledge of credit risk regulatory requirements and their practical application within a banking environment.
  • Strong analytical and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex issues into clear, balanced and actionable insights.
  • Experience leveraging data and analytics to assess risk, identify trends and support decision-making, with exposure to tools such as SQL, SAS, Power BI, Tableau or similar highly regarded.
