Job Description

Create your best future and join Westpac as a Senior Manager, FM

What’s the role?

You’ll join our Business Controls and Monitoring team within Financial Markets on a permanent, full-time basis, based in Sydney, with a hybrid working arrangement that includes three days in the office.

In this role, you’ll own and deliver end to end business controls, risk governance and issue remediation across Financial Markets. You’ll lead and contribute to key risk governance activities, including preparing risk committee packs and acting as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, including the Financial Markets COO.

You’ll play a hands-on role in evolving monitoring controls for unauthorised trading, uplifting tools and frameworks to strengthen how risks are identified and managed. You’ll independently manage complex workstreams, taking ownership from problem identification through to resolution, and escalating only when needed.

You’ll work closely with stakeholders across sales and trading, compliance, risk, audit and operations, helping translate regulatory requirements into practical, effective controls that work for the business.

What do I need?

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work autonomously across a broad and changing portfolio
  • Solid understanding of global regulations impacting Financial Markets and how they translate into practical controls
  • Confidence partnering with front office, compliance, risk and audit teams in fast paced environments
  • Ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders across technical and non technical audiences
  • Experience working with market or risk platforms such as Calypso, Murex, Palantir, Juno or similar systems
