Job Description

Join our newly established Investment and Assurance branch that forms part of the Finance, Technology and Commercial division. This team manages the development, prioritisation, and evaluation and assurance of the Transport Investment capital portfolio.

You are a leader who communicates with clarity and empathy, building strong relationships that inspire trust and collaboration.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Lead a team to undertake holistic assessments of investment proposals, including strategic alignment, affordability, deliverability, risk and commercial considerations to identify key gaps, risks and opportunities to strengthen confidence in the investment case.
  • Provide clear, evidence-based recommendations to project teams to uplift business case quality and support informed investment decision making.
  • Drive strong collaboration within the unit and amongst the senior management team to ensure alignment and consistency of advisory and reviews to support executive confidence in investment decisions.
  • Provide strategic advice to all divisions to drive high quality business cases that meet Transport, INSW, NSW Treasury and Australian Government requirements for capital and recurrent projects.
  • Build and manage relationships with key internal and external assurance stakeholders.
  • Set vision and purpose for your team, with a focus on engagement, capability uplift and delivering results.

About you

You’re a strategic leader with a deep understanding of infrastructure business case development, capital investment and assurance frameworks in complex, fast-paced environments. You will also have extensive experience in the preparation of business cases for capital projects.

With exceptional stakeholder management skills, you navigate political and organisational challenges to deliver value-driven investment outcomes. You’re adept at optimising project scopes and developing robust business cases that align with government and agency priorities.

With people at the heart, your ability to inspire and guide teams ensures high standards of delivery and continuous improvement. Tertiary qualifications and proven leadership experience in large, complex organisations are essential.
