Job Description

RAC | Perth, WA

Joondalup/West Perth with some field work
RAC is bringing its Mobile Services operation, Motoring Centre of Excellence, technical advisory channels and automotive digital and telephony functions together into one unified, high-performing capability — and we're looking for an experienced senior leader to own it.
This is a strategy-and-delivery role: you'll set the direction for how RAC builds automotive industry expertise and authority in the market, while also running the day-to-day performance of a large, multi-channel operation spanning field services, telephony, digital and face-to-face member channels. You'll lead a team of 3–7 direct reports, with broader influence over a growing team and the wider Auto Services function and play a key role in a significant business transformation agenda.

The role

Strategy & Leadership
  • Own the strategic direction of RAC's Motoring Centre of Excellence, aligning Auto Advice, Technical Trainers, mobile operations and product insight into one cohesive function
  • Provide end-to-end leadership of the mobile services network — workforce planning, logistics, performance and safety
  • Build RAC's reputation as WA's most trusted source of automotive and technical expertise
Commercial & Growth
  • Own the growth agenda across call and advisory channels — sales conversion, cross-sell, product referrals and member lifetime value
  • Optimise channel performance through improved triage, call flows and advisory capability
  • Manage and report on financial outcomes for your area of accountability
Capability & Technical Excellence
  • Establish a centralised "Motoring Tech Hub," integrating technical experts to lift technical capability and training consistency across the frontline
  • Partner with Product and Strategy teams on new motoring products and services, from research through to launch and hypercare
Governance & Stakeholder Leadership
  • Deliver against Member, Financial, Safety, People and Compliance metrics
  • Build strong relationships across L&D, Product, Strategy, Industry, Group and Operations to drive transformation outcomes
  • Build and lead an engaged, high-performing team

About you

  • Senior leadership experience in the automotive industry — essential
  • Proven leadership of teams, preferably complex, multi-channel operations (field, phone, digital and/or F2F)
  • Strong commercial acumen, with a track record of driving growth and improving performance
  • Experience leading field-based or distributed workforces (e.g. mobile, service networks)
  • Skilled at building integrated operating models and scalable teams
  • Highly developed stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, internally and externally
  • Degree in business, commerce or a related technical discipline, or equivalent significant experience

Why RAC

You'll join a business trusted by WA members for over a century, now investing in a major evolution of its automotive capability. RAC genuinely supports work-life balance, including the ability to disconnect from work outside of standard hours, and offers a leadership team invested in your growth as much as the business's.
