In this role, you'll:
Play a pivotal role in shaping how our bus, ferry, light rail, and maritime assets are managed and assured.
This role is for the Technology Systems discipline which includes the operational technology for:
- bus fleet and supporting infrastructure
- ferry fleet and supporting infrastructure
- light rail fleet and supporting infrastructure
- maritime infrastructure
- statewide operation and coordination functions, including the transport management centre
You will:
• Lead the development and implementation of asset strategies for the Systems discipline of the portfolio.
• Provide outcome-based technical expertise, solutions and decision-making on asset management, engineering, governance, planning, and assurance-related matters
• Ensure asset management practices, decision-making and investments align with asset strategies and optimise the balance of lifecycle cost, risk and performance
• Ensure vertical alignment between Government and organisational objectives with day to day activities, and horizontal alignment between internal/external roles
• Uplift asset management maturity by driving change through people, processes and systems in support of the discipline.
• Influence leaders and decision-makers— this is a leadership role ideal for someone who drives change and realises outcomes through strategic engagement and partnering with experts through the asset lifecycle
This role reports to the Director Operational Asset Strategy in the newly created Operational Asset Assurance Branch of Coordinator General. The Senior Manager Asset Strategy will lead the discipline specific asset strategy function for Coordinator General Division, including staff, partners and service providers involved in all asset lifecycle stages for bus, ferry, light rail and maritime services.
The role works in partnership with subject matter experts within the branch, division and broader Transport portfolio as well as industry and the supply chain. Other Senior Manager roles in the team include Power & Energy, Corridor & Civil, and Fleet & Depot.

About you
You are an experienced asset management practitioner at senior level who has successfully developed and implemented asset strategies. You are degree qualified in a relevant technical field. Your background is in Operational Technology systems or similar, and you have demonstrated experience or certifications in Asset Management.
You bring:
• expertise in developing and implementing lifecycle strategies that integrate multiple disciplines (e.g. engineering, commercial, operations, maintenance etc) into a coherent whole
• deep understanding of asset management and ISO 55000 series standards and their application in an operational and customer focussed environment
• aptitude for navigating competing interests and influencing decision-making in a complex and constrained environment
