Job Description

You’re a creative leader with a curious and open mindset. You’re not afraid to forge new paths, find new ways of doing things and share your learnings.

You’ll apply your asset contract management expertise, supported by clear communication, sound judgement and effective problem-solving and

conflict resolution to help thousands of people every day.

In this role, you'll:

Lead the planning, delivery and performance oversight of a portfolio of infrastructure and transport projects, acting as the client representative to ensure delivery partners achieve the outcomes, value and service expectations required. You'll provide strategic direction, monitor performance, manage risk and ensure projects remain aligned to business objectives, budgets and delivery commitments.

Working across multiple projects and stakeholders, you'll build strong relationships with contractors, consultants, government agencies and internal teams to influence outcomes, resolve issues and support informed decision-making. You'll represent the organisation's interests throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring commercial, operational and customer considerations are reflected in project delivery strategies and outcomes.

You'll lead a small team while overseeing project governance, forecasting and financial performance across the portfolio. This includes monitoring budgets, reviewing delivery performance, understanding contractual obligations and commercial risks, and providing advice that supports successful project outcomes and long-term value for the organisation.

About you

You are an experienced program or project management professional with a track record of overseeing complex infrastructure, transport or asset-related projects from the client side. You understand how to balance strategic objectives, stakeholder expectations and delivery performance to achieve outcomes in complex and often high-profile environments.

You bring strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. Comfortable working in commercially complex environments, you can navigate competing priorities, negotiate outcomes and work effectively with delivery partners to ensure obligations, risks and performance expectations are managed appropriately.

You combine strong commercial acumen with sound financial and project management capability. You understand project forecasting, budget management, governance and contractual frameworks, and can use this knowledge to provide clear advice, identify risks and opportunities, and drive informed decision-making. Experience within the roads sector would be highly regarded, although broader transport or infrastructure experience will also position you well for success in the role.
